We were absolutely amazed. No words can describe how surprising and strong flavours we had in three hours. The atmosphere, staff, food, even the toilets were an experience worth every penny and even more. We’ll definitely be back!

Went as a group of 4, had an excellent time. Food was delightful and wine pairings worked well (not stellar, but good). Very good presentation, good service, and really appreciated the use of summery herbs and tastes in the seasonal menu. Might've been a bit...over the top for some dishes, but on the whole highly enjoyable. As a strange but minor quibble, the restaurant had asked us beforehand if fish was okay for those of us with vegetarian diets, but they still ended up serving veg options, with fish only for meat eaters. Regardless, would recommend and will certainly visit again.More
Excellent use of herbs and spices. Various small dishes prepared with care - truly beaufiful to look at and really something special to taste. Wines were well selected and excellent match with the menu. I don't often write this kind of recommendations but this place...is definitely worth a visit!More
Visited as a couple in early December 2021. Amazing tastes, perfect, proactive service with a smile, and just a great touch of personality to everything. Felt like just the right place for a romantic evening. Will definitely visit again.
Great food experience from local ingredients where the service is also excellent. The new taste experiences were great.
We've heard good things, walked passed, but finally reserved a table. A menu plus the wine package; a very well thought through experience, sometimes on a wilder side and thus maybe not for everyone, but I totally loved it. Local ingredients, wild herbs, interesting combinations,...beutifully plated. Excellent.More
Worth every penny; great tastes, fresh & local, one of the best dinner experiences in Finland. Enough room between tables during COVID; feels comfortable
The food was delicious 👍 But making a reservation and having a table under the jackets and no respect for Covid 19 distance, tables next to each other’s Any way, we decided to stay and it did pay out Wine selection was not that great,...the sparkling wine for the aperitif was terrible, has to oder some champagne Also some other wine selection where wired, but that’s always a question or f taste I recommend for the food Wine selection not my cup of teeMore
Very innovative food. We had a set menu with a wine package. Food quality was excellent, however, there were a couple of minor issues. Wine package matched the food nicely. Best food in Tampere at the moment!
We did have the 4 course menu Absolutely marvellous, super taste A lot of local Finnish products 👍 The wine recommendations for each menu was good, except the last. Only minus is that they do not ask if the wine is fine with you, or...you could taste it. Like in our case the last wine would newer have been choose . Now we had to order and pay for an other class of wine If this would be different the place would be top of topMore
By far, the best restaurant experience I've had in Finland (and perhaps anywhere else). The food was a combination of unique flavors mixed with traditional Finnish cuisine. Literally the best new potato I've ever had. Not to mention the raw strawberry - trust me, you'll...never want to eat a ripe strawberry again. The food is certainly fine-dining, but the atmosphere is light, relaxed and fun. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing and his descriptions of the food were as good as the meals themselves. The owners are incredible, too. We had a slight issue with our check and they corrected it immediately without any questions. Kajo is a must-visit restaurant for locals of Tampere and tourists alike. 11 out of 10 would recommend.More
I have enjoyed a full evening menu in Kajo two times, and the third one is in the books. On the basis of these two visits Kajo has clearly risen to the absolute top of my fine dining experiences ever. The service is warm an...attentive, and the menu has been crafted to my vegan wishes with care – rethought out thoroughly, not just tweaked fromn the existing menu. The long evenings are two diverse to dissect here, but I just want to mention a few gems: the potato-tomato main course, full of flavour and a surprisingly good combination; the potato "doughnuts" dipped in onion gel; Jerusalem artichoke with pear – a first!; the succulent celeriac tartar; the swede spaghetti – and the swede ice cream! These good people are artists without becoming pretentious. The wine selection is to die for.More
Like always, less would have been more. 2/6 courses on menu were okay, even tasty but too many did’t work. Too many really fancy looking things on a plate, but all tastes did not work together or were too complicated. 5/6 portions were lukewarm -...we were not sure should they be cold or hot. Wines were quite expensive and not that expectional. Not worth the money. Disappointment.More
Amazing experience. Unusual combination of tastes but matching so well together. Great atmosphere and very friendly service. Highly recommended.
This restaurant is so different it is hard to rate. We had a group of three, and ordered the six course menu. Every dish was an unusual combination with unusual ingredients prepared in a novel but taste balanced way. I can't recommend it more highly....Committed staff, perfect service.More
