"Kumma" (Strange) has been around for a bit over two years now, and it has quickly found its place in the bar and restaurant scene of Tampere. The place is always packed when I visit, so much so, that reserving a dinner table is highly recommended, unless you want to turn away at the door of a full house.
I reserved a table with a dear friend for a vegan dinner. Kumma serves all food inclinations, and there are ample opportunities for lovers of vegan food also. This time I tried eggplant fritters for a starter, and they were excellent. For main I tried a new skewer platter. There were two excellent arancini (very rare in Finland!), two falafel tasting strongly of fava beans and two pieces of skillfully fried eggplant. All of this was on top of an excellent and complex salad. Kumma has an excellent seitan pita dish, which I recommend heartily, but I think this was even better! As a dessert I had a piece of raspberry-licquorice cake and a shot of Vat 69. Excellent!

We went to Kumma for dinner with a friend who has a more strict vegan diet, as we heard this place was rather famous among the locals as a vegetarian/vegan food establishment aside from being a bar. We were definitely not disappointed.
The meals we ordered were very stylized and aesthetic, far from being just "junk food". The customer service was great, and we could leisurely enjoy our dinner and beer at the outside terrace. The inside decor was also pleasant.
I hope to come back the next time I visit Tampere!

Had ribs, cauliflower wings and french fries via Foodora. Amazing taste and big portions! The rib sauce is quite hot, but can be ordered separately. I warmly recommend! Even our fussy 8-year old said this was the best meal ever!

I have been regular customer since moved to Tampere centrum 05/2023. Food is good, service is fine, but... I found out that, if something goes wrong, service is not okay. I visited couple of weeks okay, made an order at the bar, went to the table. After 45 minutes I noticed that people who have arrived 20 minutes ago get the food. Went to the bar to ask where my food is and one woman went to the kitchen to ask. Came to my table to say food went to the wrong table, what was my order IF it would be put in front of the queue in kitchen. Really? I have paid my food, you made the mistake, ofcourse it is in front of the queue without asking! She went couple of times to the kitchen and back to my table before even asking kitchen to make my food. After an hour I finally got food, I didn't have anything to drink left, nobody asked if I want some and I was in a hurry. During this I didn't got any apology about the mistake/delay, not any discount or free drink. I sent day after an email to restaurant to get even feedback that this will be discussed with personnel, so it won't happen again... No answer at all. Luckily Tampere have lots of good restaurants, I don't mind to walk 100m longer to be sure that I'll get food I'll pay.

Kumma moved recently to a new locale, as the old house was demolished. We visited here in February for a dinner after a movie. We shared a starter of vegan bao buns with tofu, and as a main I had "kapsalon" a sort of Dutch loaded fries dish, a vegan version also. Both were great: especially the tofu was caramellized wonderfully, and the taste was complemented by a sesame oil -flavoured salad.

3 persons dinner, we shared halloum fries 👍, sweet potato fries👍, gagnam style 🥇, sneaky slider 👍, tao bao balls 👍, veggie fest 👍, chocolate turbine 👍 - food was great experience, atmosphere and music was great and service really friendly. We did not have to wait more than normally. Only thing to improve could be the drink/coffee/tea area. We’ll gladly visit again ❤️

Spend the evening here with a friend and we both loved the place! Nice relaxed vibes and interior really reminded me a place I visited in Budapest. Good selection of drinks (bonus points for excelent choice of glass for cider) and food was really good, full of flavour and presented nicely. Also staff gets a good job sticker from me. Will definitely come here again when visiting Tampere!

I've recently travelled in Ireland, Finland and Spain. It was certainly unexpected that I would find the best meal of my trip in Tampere, Finland. The meal I had there, was one of the best meals I've had, anywhere.

Lovely drinks and delicious food. With a friend, we took the first drinks and shared a meat platter. Both really delicious. The interior of the place was not quite to my taste and the table was far too small for food and drinks, but otherwise it was fine. Let's continue.

Looks like a bar, and quite messy one... But hey, there is food as well, and quite interesting menu! Food was very tasty and good quality, but nothing too fine. Very relaxed, and definitely nice option for typical burger and texmex. Only minus was that you have to order at the bar, not at the table - we wouldve took some wine as well, but didnt want to leave the table in the middle of eating.
