Kahvila Oskari - One of the Gems in Lahti

Whenever we visit Lahti there are two places we always visit. One of them is the idyllic Kahvila Oskari in the center of Lahti, on Hameenkatu. Their food offering is broad, but for us, it is always coffee, and some cake. They do some specialty...coffees, although you will not get a flat white at Oskari. The regular filter coffee is however very decent. Their cake selection is very good, as are the cakes. On our visit in August 2019 we chose the Brita cake, which is really a sibling to Eton mess. The Brita cake was very tasty. The side cake - they have so many cakes on offer so one surely can’t have just one - lemon curd cake with vanilla sauce was pretty nice as well. The atmosphere at Oskari is very pleasant. They have tables outside, but we always prefer to sit inside of the idyllic coffee shop, where they have several different rooms to choose from. The service in the place is friendly, and very good. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Oskari.More

Lovely cafe

Really lovely place for having a nice breakfast with my husband :) they have a lot of gluten free options. 2 salty options and also 3 types of different cakes. Ofcourse a lot of cakes that are not gluten free but looking so good :)...also you can take so much coffee as you like :) service very friendly and nice :)More

Lovely little café

Go to Oskari, if you want to enjoy delicious snacks and lovely tea with ok prices. Prepare to queue for a few minutes, though, as there are always plenty of customers. But the rooms are cosy, and you easily spend an hour there, just enjoying...life.More

One of the best cafes in Lahti

This is for vintage lovers and for them who want to see what kind of houses we used to have in Finland. Of course, because this is unique and in the center of the city, this is not a cheap place. If you want to...see somethin I described above, go! If you're in a hurry, go somewhere else.More

Idyllic cafe in Lahti

Lovely warm atmosphere in old wooden house in the centre of Lahti. Decent prices, lots of vegetarian stuff.

Delicious cakes and a coffee

An excellent coffee shop with a brilliant selection of cakes and drinks. There is a wall with history of the building which is of nineteenth century construction. Great for afternoon tea.

A lovely cozy place with good selections

It was a beautiful surprise for us to find a such nice cafe in Lahti where is walking distance to our hotel. A charming and cozy place with delicious selections 30% cheaper than in Helsinki. It was a very good experience, highly recommended.

A mini break from your everyday just around the corner

This café ticks many boxes on my check list. The rooms have a beautiful old-fashioned aura, the tea is of particularly good quality, and cakes and pies have always been delicious. All in all, delightful.

cozy and nice

Nice cafe in the centre of Lahti. Cozy atmosphere and good selection of cakes, coffee, tea and delicious soups for lunch!

Morning espresso

Cool interior with many old school staff. Nice terrace with couple tables. Espresso, served with Karl Fazer candy, not on high level but drinkable. For me the best here is atmosphere and interior.

Traditional Finnish café

It is no secret that Finns drink a lot of coffee. One of the best places to have "Kahvi ja pulla" is Kahvila Oskari, located in a well-preserved wooden house in downtown Lahti. There is comfortable seating both inside and outside under old trees. The...soup was not on the menu in the summer, but still a great place to visit for coffee and traditional Finnish pastry.More

Really nice interior

Fresh snacks, nice surroundings. Friendly staff, second cup of coffee for free :) Soup for lunch. A throwback in time.
