Beautiful place and restaurant to visit. Good food and atmosphere with nice service. Menu is very versatile. You can choose something for small or bigger hungry. Big sauna for rent cost efficient price. Bar is awesome!

This isn't any gourmet restaurant but this may be the best possible summer restaurant and cafeteria. The place is very idyllic. The restaurant is situated on Myllysaari Island. There are three beautiful walking bridges from the parking place, which is situated on the mainland, 500...meters from the restaurant. The walking distance from the market square of Lahti is about 3.5-4 kilometres and it is a very beautiful lakeside route. We walked the whole way from the market square to the restaurant and back. It is also possible to order a bike taxi. Sometimes (mainly in July) there is also a boat connection from Lahti Harbor to Myllysaari. The restaurant is situated in the historical wooden pavilion which was built in 1910. The style is Art Nouveau. It may be the oldest lake pavilion in Finland. When they built the building, they found viking graves from the Iron Age (about 600 BC). So this is a very historical place in many ways. There are also very interesting trees and other plants on the island. You may eat inside the pavilion or on a beautiful summer terrace. Lake view is beautiful. They have a charcoal grill but you also have many other meal options: fish soup, toast skagen, local fish, salmon, octopus, entrecôte, chicken, falafel, burgers, waffles (both salty and sweet) etc. There is something for everybody. They also have a separate children's menu. If you don't want to eat the whole meal, it is OK to take only a waffle or ice cream. You may also rent a SUP board or have sauna bathing in a bookable sauna. A yacht club operates on the island. So there is often interesting activities around the restaurant. This may be the most interesting summer restaurant in Lahti region.More
