This used to be a very nice craft beer pub. Not anymore. The interior is charming and the personnel are trying, but it is just not working out. We tried different beers but just got disappointed every time. The draught beers all tasted like crap,...most likely the kegs just have been open for too long. Only a few people there on a friday night, so it seems the people have noticed the problem. It also seemed that the personnel had no clue. Friendly, but did not know what they were doing. Sorry to say, but will come no more.More

The title sums it up - warm welcome from the barman who was very knowledgeable about all the wide range of beers available, both bottled and on tap. I asked about a typical Finnish beer and he launched into a 5 minute explanation about the...Finnish beers that they had which was very interesting. It's not often that you find someone willing to give you so much time. The best (and cheapest) that I tried was Karhu III, a very good basic lager. According to the barman, Karhu means bear in Finnish, hence the bear logo on the pump. They stock a wide range of Belgian and German beers as well. They also sell English real ales albeit through a keg pump rather than a hand pump. On this visit they had Shepherd Neame Spitfire and Sam Smiths, but in the recent past have sold many of the beers available in the U.K. at Wetherspoons, including Yorkshire Terrier from my local York Brewery. Didn't try them as I didn't fancy quality real ales from a keg pump. British ciders also feature including Weston's, Aspall & Thatchers. To top it off, they sell a large range of Scottish Single Malts and other Whisky. This is the first bar I've tried in Helsinki so not sure how it compares. Prices are higher than I expected with the cheapest beer costing €5:50 a pint. But the service and atmosphere make it worth paying. Seems to be a very traditional local bar, and well worth a visit.More

Liked the place, went there with some friends. The barkeeper is helpful with the choice of beers, all that I tried were good. Quite expensive, but I guess that's what you get for going to a pub in Finland ^^

Good place with good athmosphere. Differrent from most kallio places. More quiet, in a good way. Good stuff.

Nice pub with a long list of beers. Food is basically toasts, but they are very good and big. Daily newspapers and even some board games.

If looking good beer, not just lager go Kuikka. They have large tab and great bottles selections differend labels. One of best Pubs in Kallio. Thats no place for dinner, just sandwich and snacks.
