If you are in a hungry, go to Oiva! They offer a nice lunch for 10 euros which is tasty, but also quite heavy. Yes, you don't have to eat that much. The usually have better than average dessert. Atmosphere - well, look around carefully ;-). I have heard good reviews for their brunch and try to visit.

This is a very old and well known bar in Kallio district, in the heart of Kallio. Mainly people visit there for singing the karaoke. The karaoke hosts sing very well too. Self service from the counter. Lunch also available, but never tried that.

From Oiva you can get the best bruch in the town!!! Typical Finnish breakfust + little bit more. You are not hungry in hole day! It is good to make table reservation.

Nice and plenty brunch on Saturday noon. Too bad I only had 30 minutes to enjoy it. I could easily have spent 1½ hours there with my friends.

This is a very nice, typical Finnish lunch restaurant/pub close to Hakaniemi Square and the Market Hall. We didn't eat there, but found some interesting brands of beer. Over all, this seems to be a very popular place to have a good lunch at a very reasonable price. Menu changes every day, and you can choose from at least three... More

I´ve only been to Oiva for family brunch, and for that purpose it is a lovely place. The setting is comfortable and cosy. Kids found several choices suitable for them (croissants they seemed to love most, and also the traditional Karelian pastry, karjalanpiirakka), which is not always self evident on a brunch buffet. All four grown ups in our company... More

We were at a loose end as we only had a few hours in Helsinki and came across this restaurants. We were a little early for lunch but this wasn't a problem and the staff kindly served lunch for us. We had a long lunch and didn't feel under any pressure to leave. This is a TGI / Weatherspoons type... More

I visited Oiva several times and it never disappoints. This is one of the best brunch places in town, perfect for lazy Sundays. The food is tasty and plenty (different cold and warm dishes, dessert table, couple of types of cheese, fruits, all kinds of drinks). 19,50 EUR for brunch is quite reasonable for Helsinki, especially when one considers the... Oiva has been in Kallio for ages and it is easy to go to with Karaoke, all kinds of drinks and also nice Sunday brunch - order in advance! Food is ok, nothing too fancy, but still nice. Oiva is a place for everyone and for every occasion!

Thank Mrs S
