Great food and service. Maya never ceases to please. If there was one thing I would change is to offer a little more spice to meals than Finns are normally comfortable with. Other than that it’s fabulous and the fajitas are highly recommended

Happened to stumble on Maya by accident while looking for a place to eat. It’s located close to the central railway station.
Staff were great, very friendly and all who served us spoke good English.
They have a good selection of drinks a few more on tap beers would have been nice.
The food was great. Two of us shares the fajitas, one had a chicken dish and one had the tofu. All the food was delicious.
The restaurant was packed and the orders took some time to come out. Even with people waiting for tables we were never rushed. Prices were very reasonable. All in all we came away feeling good after an enjoyable evening.

We bought a few starters, and salmon and fajitas for mains. Everything was very good. Was pleasantly surprised how well chevre was in a tex mex dish! Yes, restaurant might be a bit pricey, but we didnt mind. Good comfort food, nice portions, relaxed atmosphere. The service was also good(not many customers this afternoon)Would go again, if in Helsinki.

We were craving for a mexican food and found this place. I wouldn't call it mexican, it is a bit of a strange mix of various south american food with some fusion added to it. We had various tapas which were all pretty good including yummy ceviche and salads. We also had their big tortilla stuffed with checken and another one with steak, both were very tasty. As a dessert we have gotten their delicious churros. Overall the food was great but the service was ok, somehow the waitresses were not very friendly and kept themselves very occupied... It seems quite unusual for Helsinki as in other places we visited people were really nice.

This was a great meal. The atmosphere was nice, the location was central and the food exquisite. We shared a nachos platter, which was homemade nachos not the ones out of a Doritos bag and then my husband had a vegetarian dish and I had a tortilla. All really well done and for Helsinki not too budget breaking.

Disappointing and confusing… Tex Mex style of decor and menu meets fine dining type of dishes. Was recommended to take a chicken salad for main; it’s big and delicious she said but it was quite the opposite. Left the restaurant still hungry.

This place has slipped our list for a long time. Mostly due to the fact that normally you are unable to make table reservations at week ends. This time we took a chance and were very impressed. We were met by very friendly staff although the restaurant was almost full. Drinks were ordered and also the food after a while. Latin American food at it's very best. We had Paella Cubana to share. Excellently spiced and well prepaired, consisting of rice, mussels, shrimps , giant shrimps and corizon sausages. The portion was well enough for the two of us. As a dessert we had Tarta Maya, which was an excellent chose. Never had curry in my dessert before.
During the whole dinner the service was excellent and the staff was very helpful.
This visit was a visit of joy. We'll certainly be back.
During "normal" times you should always make a booking.

Feels like a regular stop when we head home Maya is located centrally in Helsinki and the food and cocktails are good. Had a Cuban paella which is very tasteful. For large eaters it may be a bit small though.

As Sunday lunch wr eaten Cuba paella. Teaste was very good. Not too heavy and very taste jo that there where taste long in memory. Fast service tjere were not lot of peple that time

Andre (from Romania) took my call and when I asked: 'you have table?' He asked his team and they said 'no'. Then Andre said 'yes!'. He was super nice and the food was super good with great menu recommendations from Andre. We strongly recommend this restaurant and try everything they have to offer.

Unlike in many comments here, we were served well! The food tasted absolutely great, too. Maybe somewhat small main dishes so I'd recommend appetizers.
Fabulous location for those coming or going to the railwaystation, or National theatre.

On our first day in Helsinki, we had dinner at this restaurant. And then we just had to go back, on our last day in town. A fantastic restaurant, with food of class, and nice service. Do not travel from Helsinki without visiting this place.

Nice, fast service and good, tasty food. A good place to eat mexican style food on Helsinki. Food is not the most authentic, but nice anyway. Book a table if going to eat at weekend, place is popular.

Premises are very dark - it seems to have dinner in a basement.
All dishes are pretty OK.
Service is of standard level for the capital.
Great location downtown, fitting any type of dinner.
