Epic metal bar!

Epic metal bar! This is my kinda place! They play metal music all day. All the staff have cool tattoos. It's all black. It serves a dozen beers on tap and has a massive menu of shots and cocktails. It doesn't serve food only drinks! It has a cool outside part where you can just sit and watch the world go by as you listen to Metallica and drink beer! Epic place!

Great Rock Pub!

Wherever I go I always seek out the local rock bar. The Riff is excellent. A variety of rock and metal played at a decent volume, and you can speak to each other without shouting over the music. Great variety of beer available. Staff very efficient and welcoming. Not all the customers are metalheads, everyone is welcome and it's a very pleasant atmosphere. Great beer and music, comfortable seating, lovely atmosphere and the security dude looks like Joe Rogan, which is pretty cool.

Good tunes, good beer, good company

This is my go to bar when I'm in Helsinki. Candle lit tables are frequented by friendly locals drinking decent beer and listening to a great selection of alternative music. Things can get lively later, especially if a band has been playing at the local arena, and it's usually the band themselves who start the party!

Our Favourite Bar in Helsinki

This bar is a must go for anyone who likes metal / rock music. The beer selection was excellent and the staff were super friendly. It's a nice place to sit outside and chill out too. The music was excellent!

Always a bar I love to visit whenever I’m in Helsinki. Fantastic choice of craft beers from Fat Lizard Brewery in Espoo, as well as other drinks. The bar girl (Ekaterina?) is great and the music rocks 🤘

Perfect place for a drink

I liked ………………. The beer, the service, the red hair girl with those fantastic tattoos….. the bar is just gorgeous and I would recommend it to anybody who is just a tiny bit out of line!!!!!!!!

One of the best bar in the city.

Excellent rock pub / cafe. Well worth a visit. We spent a few hours here working our way through the drinks. Friendly, polite and helpful bar staff. Good music too!.

Not a rock bar and rude

Went in here for a drink. Firstly, doorman that checked the COVID passes was rude felt like he didn't want to let us in. Weren't many seats when we got in so sat at the bar. After getting a few weird looks from the bar staff we were asked to move away from the bar as it was busy....wasn't busy at the bar and why were there seats there if they didn't want anyone to sit down? Chap that asked us to move was very rude. The place itself was pretentious. Music was not rock. Felt more like a trendy hipster bar than a rock bar. I am a 40 something tourist from the UK and didn't feel very welcome here at all. There were plenty of other places we went that were great and welcoming in Helsinki so felt I should call this out to others. Avoid if you've been to actual rock bars and avoid if you're a bit older and don't want to feel like you're face doesn't fit.

Coffee order and violence racist behavior from people in the Riff

Went into the riff helsinki for an expresso! Was target for verbal violence and racist behavior by staff and a customers inside the place! This place should not be allowed to be open as they're not simply completely open to anyone! Racists nest is the Riff Helsinki! Not to spend a cent on it aa they don't deserve it!

The last bastion of Rock in Helsinki

If you want rock music and fun then this is Helsinki's best spot. One of the owners are from the 69 Eyes band too so you know it's legit. I'm loving my bourbon on the rocks and stomping my feet right now so come join me! The staff are awesome and talented too to you are well taken care of.

Funky inner city bar

Sunday night - nothing open in Helsinki. Freezing cold. Get the picture?? Stumbled upon The Riff. I don't know, but I'd guess that it generally attracts a rather "edgy" clientele - certainly not normally a couple of "oldies" from Australia. The service was excellent, the wine nice, the atmosphere funky. We only stayed for one drink, but it was a very pleasant way to spent an hour or so. It's described here on TripAdvisor as a restaurant - it looked more like a pub/bar to me, but I assume that they do serve food, not that we partook.

A cozy rock bar in Hell sinki

Me and my friend were visiting Helsinki and we were really looking forward to checking out some of the rock bars in the city. A lady from our hotel recommended the riff. It was second of May and it was rather empty becouse of that. I guess everybody parties and everybody is smashed the day after. That was weird for us as first of May is also a party day in Denmark but the next day life goes on. Anywho we came back the next day and it was more filled with people. The bar is rather small and cozy. Decor is fine and the staff is really cool. Prices are as everywhere in center of Helsinki, crazy. Well at least compared to danish prices. Music was good and I would definitly visit this place again if I come back to Helsinki.

amazing, even 2nd time round!

it was my 2nd visit to The Riff (the partner has visited times before!) and it's always welcoming and accommodating. The barman recommended me sweet cocktails and made them even sweeter to my liking! Unfortuately we had just missed happy hour by a couple of minutes but that didn't put us off, we love this place!

near like Hard rock cafes,but place for the people who like hard rock. This place is owned by Finnish hard rock drumplayer Jussi 69. Worth wisiting.
