Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The interior was little bit used. The waiter in the bar was kind, and we ordered two Captain’s burgers, 19,5 eur each. We got the burgers, but the meat was red and the other sandwich was burned (and it was black) from the top. I...would rather recommend some other place for a hamburger.More

Something has happened to this place. It used to have a good food, but not anymore (I heard that owners has changed since). We ordered for starter a burratta and tomato salad (I am pretty sure that it wasn't burratta but normal mozzarella...) Salad was...ok anyway, but nothing special. But the main course was a total disappointment - a pike-pearch with vegetables and Bearnaise sauce. Fish was underseasoned, vegetables too crunchy and the sauce was splitted and tasted horrible. Also the portion size was really small, but the price was not (28 EUR). None of the personnel didn't speak Finnish, they didn't know what to do (one was serving and two others stands behind) and the queue was long... Nothing wasn't prepared in advance and if the customer wanted to have a drink, they started to make it from the scratch by cutting the lemons, etc.). Location is beautiful (if you love boats) near to the sea, but some brush up inside the restaurant would be nice and highly recommended.More

Level of food and service has gradually decreased over the years. During Corona-spring tried once - food portions low quality and not tasteful. During recent lunch visit, my order was missed, no apologies. Time to stop visiting this place.

My uncle took me here when I came for a visit, we had pea soup and pancakes. You can eat outside on the deck or inside. It’s warm and cozy, and the crowd is old and young. Great place to dine just outside of Helsinki.

We visited Blue Peter as a 'plan B' lunch after we found another cafe restaurant to be closed for the winter. However when we arrived we realised that this should have been our Plan A - the place was warm and modern inside and felt...very cozy. The location was beautiful - right by the marina and a lovely place to eat on a sunny winter's day. The menu was also excellent - with a range of enticing options including skagen (which my wife had), the schnitzel (my choice), an archipelago platter which includes fish, seafood and meats, as well as salmon soup, smoked salmon and pepper steak dishes. The food was very well presented and delicious and the staff friendly. A place to add to the list of great lunch places in the west of Helsinki.More

We live nearby and we have given this restaurant so manu chances and it has always failed. The prices and the quality of food and service do NOT match! The so called food is NOT fresh. Half of it is dipped in mayonese from the...jar. The salads they serve during the weekend buffet is processed and bought ”ready to serve”. The “smoked” salmon is NOT smoked, it is fried in a pan. Just awful! Just really poor quality of everything. Not worth the money. The only good thing about it is the summer terrace.More

Chose to go to this place due to the beautiful weather and the chance to have lunch outside. I had the house burger and my wife a risotto. Both were OK, nothing special. What was disturbing was that the tables were not cleaned, there were...a lot of used dishes on the tables outside. All in all mediocre, but weather was nice.More

The Blue Peter Seaside restaurant is a quiet place at this time of year (Sep), and mainly occupied by sailors this evening. We had crab toast for starter and whitefish / salmon for main course. All very nicely arranged and served, and it tasted really...good. The waiter spoke impeccable English and was just enough attentive to care without disturbing too much. I rate 4 of 5 because this is basically just a sailor’s place made available for others, but I would go there anytime again, both for business and with family!More

Finnish friends took us here to the Sunday buffet. It's one of their favorite restaurants, and we understand why. Big windows on every side overlook the water, with yachts and other boats right outside. The indoor atmosphere is relaxed, not fancy. The buffet was lavish,...with many Finnish specialties.More

The lunch buffet is ok, I like the fact that the salad bar has lots to choose from. Out of the warm foods the salmon lacked taste. The place is pretty big and I like the outdoor seating by the sea. Se price for lunch...is ok, but off the menu quite pricey.More

An atmospheric restaurant / bar next to a yacht club in Lauttasaari, Helsinki. They offer lunch for a decent price on weekdays. On Sundays there’s a rich brunch buffet (a bit pricey though) which is popular among whole families. Out of lunch hours I recommend...the traditional Finnish creamy salmon soup from the bistro menu. You can choose a smaller or larger one, the latter is very fulfilling and satisfying 🙂 The soup has a good proportion of salmon (not just all potatoes). In summertime you can sit outside, but if you eat beware of the arrogant seagulls. Arrive on wheels or foot. There’s free parking.More

Food was ok, but could have been warmer. It gave us the sense that the food had been waiting ready and just reheated to serve, especially since it came less than 15 minutes after ordering. Our british waiter was hilarious though! Extra points for him.

We live locally, and some past family dinners at Blue Peter have been a nice experience, with excellent quality food and good service. This evening we waited 90+ minutes for 2 kids' meals and 2 adults' meals. We were warned that there would be a...delay but we never imagined it would be 1.5 hours. After this long wait, only 2 out of 4 meals were somehow up to scratch. My smoked fish "Caesar Salad" in particular was a real disappointment - a big bowl of lettuce with mayonnaise squirted amateurishly all over it, for 17 euros (though I will admit that the smoked fish hiding under the mountain of mayonnaise was very good). By the time we got our food it was so late that my younger daughter was too tired to eat and we had to take her meal away with us. The wait staff was very apologetic for the delay, but we were not offered any kind of discount, free drinks, or any of the other courtesies I would expect under these circumstances. Really super disappointing. Despite this being the closest restaurant to our home we will not be coming back.More
