This place has lunch of the day, and usually, it's homemade Finnish meals for a very good price of 10 euros. I had traditional pea soup with bread and butter and a dessert – a pancake with sorbet, it was a nice and tasty small portion. The staff is very friendly and it's nice and cozy inside. All the tables were served with a bottle of water. Thank you!

This place has a real buzz even mid week on a Wednesday. Decor is funky Nordic style and the food excellent. It offers a modern take on a number of Finnish classics. I had the meatballs which had a real kick to them, which the waitress told me was due to them including Tabasco! Very tasty. Very friendly service too.

KuuKuu has a great vibe which you can feel as soon as you enter. The ever smiling staff are quick to welcome you. Getting a table in the afternoon is no problem on a walk-in basis but it’s probably a good idea to reserve for dinner time.
Their salmon soup is super tasty and it comes in soup or main course size. Creamy and with perfectly cooked potato and salmon pieces, it is melt in your mouth deliciousness. If ordering the main course size, then another main course is probably a bit too much but fortunately there is also a great choice of desserts and the honey mousse with almond and buckthorn juice was a great sweet and somewhat sour choice.

On New Year´s Eve KuuKuu recommended a special festive menu. The appetizer with blini and pike-perch ceviche gave a promising start, fresh and tasty. The sorbet with rosemary mareng was uninspiring, watery and with some visible but not tasteable rosemary.
The main dish, lamb, was a peculiar roll of skin, fat and some meat. Tough to cut, difficult to chew, and very little to eat. The sauce was delicious, but...
The dessert was also disappointing, a champagne-white chocolate curd with some cloudberry, weakish in taste and served in a glass jar, baby-meal size. Not at all in line with the other tableware.
Service was quick, the obvious questions about the food were asked, but the comments were not heard.

Lazy service was accompanied by a wait of more than 60 minutes during not so busy lunch hour for a steak and a salmon salad (!) On top of that, the steak was way over-cooked and thus rather dry. The price was way too high taking the poor service and food quality into consideration. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the place even as a local.

The service was warm and friendly. The first person I met while stepping in the restaurant had smiling eyes.
The food was exceptionally tasty, and the wine recommended with the blini added my pleasure and made me smile.
The athmosphere - the friendly and competent personnel, the interior design, the delicious food - carried me through the rainy evening. I’ll certainly come again.

So glad we went here, staff were so kind and lovely, food was delicious and could not fault it.
We arrived without a booking, a family of five with three children. They found a lovely spot for us in the private dining room and could not have done more for us.
We had salmon soup and steak tartare that we shared, followed by salmon potatoes salad, beef, fish of the day (sole) and meat balls. All were beautifully presented.
My daughter loved the meatballs and the said the mash potato was the best she had ever had (we ended up going through a long list of people’s mash potatoes she didn’t like, including her grandad’s! 😂). My son, demolished the Salmon soup and for my other daughter they brought a whole selection of gluten free bread ( and also most of the menu is gluten free)
Staff were so chatty (in English as I don’t know a word of Finnish) and were so accommodating, brought out spare plates for us and make sure we always had water.
Would 💯 recommend and definitely worth a visit if you want to eat some amazing, regional food.

This full restaurant is famous for it's delicious food, someone told me "like gourmee -style". We were celebrating birthday with some relations, and must reserve own room for having private session,,, menu was not so large but all they offered looked very good,,, and also tasted. All of our group (7 persons) liked what they ordered. Service was fine. This restaurant can be recommended, especially for groups, families etc.

Clearly found by chance thanks to T.A., the place looks positive: welcoming and pleasant service, ambient music in the background, minimal but elegant mise em place. The choice of dishes is not vast, but you can choose whether to make menus, or order a la carte. In 2 we had an appetizer (sandwich with salmon, egg and trout caviar), two main courses (cow meatballs and smoked char) and a dessert (chocolate mousse with blueberries). Wine by the glass.
The price is that, right for the quality and quantity yielded.
Maybe it lacks a little “human touch”, but otherwise, absolutely happy with the choice.

We came here for lunch wanting to experience true cuisine from Finland, and that’s what we got. We tried three different plates; salmon soup (came with this quirky delicious bread they called Archipelago bread), goat cheese salad and pike loaf. Wow!!!! The flavors, the textures. Just perfect. Thankfully my partner took a picture before we started devouring. Thank you KuuKuu. Your staff also painted a smile on our face :)

Fantastic find in Helsinki. We wanted a local flavor and picked KuuKuu based on reviews, and certainly its a winner! The salmon soup was outstanding, we shared an appetizer bowl, which was perfect to give us a taste! We then had the fish of the day, wonderful and the plate of the day, bratwurst… both were super delicious…. Great bottle of Rose Cremant to go with it all. Service was fantastic, could not have been friendlier or more pleasant… we loved it! Definitely recommend.

For lunch in Helsinki, we enjoyed the local delicacy Lohikeitto, a hearty salmon soup with generous cubes of fresh salmon, dill oil, potatoes, and flavorful veggies that tied the dish together. Paired with Brooklyn's non-alcoholic beer, it made for a perfect midday meal. The total came to less than 50 euros for two people, making it a great spot for both business lunches and casual catch-ups with friends, all while soaking in the local vibe. Highly recommend!

Two of us went for dinner and had the Kuu menu - we booked in advance. The food was divine, salmon soup was so lovely and the reindeer, so so tender.
Our waitress was welcoming, friendly and made us laugh a lot.
We would highly recommend a meal here
