KuuKuus’ homely, relaxed atmosphere continues from lunch, to late in the evening. We offer classical dishes from Finland as well as a modern cuisine, that favors organic quality ingredients. Our wine list offers a convenient selection of its own imported finds, at affordable prices to compliment our dishes.
Perfection, thank you to all the staff for taking care of me and my family during our memorial service for our dearest grandmother. Food was great and the cabinet we had was perfect for our needs. 6/5 would definitely recommend.
This place has lunch of the day, and usually, it's homemade Finnish meals for a very good price of 10 euros. I had traditional pea soup with bread and butter and a dessert – a pancake with sorbet, it was a nice and tasty small...portion. The staff is very friendly and it's nice and cozy inside. All the tables were served with a bottle of water. Thank you!More
12-person team lunch, pre-informed orders.
Pike terrine was a tad mild,
meatballs were chunky but a little on the salty side and the
ice cream dessert was good.
In my opinion pre-ordered group dishes always loose the fresh touch as you can notice they're pre-plated...and kept warm under heaters.More
This place has a real buzz even mid week on a Wednesday. Decor is funky Nordic style and the food excellent. It offers a modern take on a number of Finnish classics. I had the meatballs which had a real kick to them, which the...waitress told me was due to them including Tabasco! Very tasty. Very friendly service too.More
On New Year´s Eve KuuKuu recommended a special festive menu. The appetizer with blini and pike-perch ceviche gave a promising start, fresh and tasty. The sorbet with rosemary mareng was uninspiring, watery and with some visible but not tasteable rosemary.
The main dish, lamb, was...a peculiar roll of skin, fat and some meat. Tough to cut, difficult to chew, and very little to eat. The sauce was delicious, but...
The dessert was also disappointing, a champagne-white chocolate curd with some cloudberry, weakish in taste and served in a glass jar, baby-meal size. Not at all in line with the other tableware.
Service was quick, the obvious questions about the food were asked, but the comments were not heard.More
Lovely little restaurant in Toolo has excellent food. I found all of it totally over salted though.
Now I know the fins have a penchant for salty things but for me this was too much. From the butter covered in salt crystals, the breads to...the meal itself it was over done and spoiled what was a lovely tasting meal otherwise.
Staff are very friendly and service was excellent.More
I had lunch here last week; I was lucky as I didn't have a reservation but I arrived shortly after 1 pm and there were a few spaces open for walk-ins. For 29 Euro, you could get a starter, a main, and a dessert. Helsinki...is very expensive so for lunch that is reasonable value. The starter was a soup of root veggies, and it was very, very good - hearty with a great flavor. My main was sauteed reindeer, and I was disappointed. The meat was dry, tough, and fatty. The accompanying mashed potatoes were good. Dessert was brioche with ice cream, and it was refreshing. Service was very friendly throughout. I would give it another go, but just skip the reindeer.More
After listening to the big boosting about hiw good a restaurant Kuukuu is I suppose mycecpectatiobs were a bit too hugh to start with. So I was as dissapointed in the taste of the meatballs as my partner was is the taste of the salmonsoup....The meatballs tasted like bratwurst and the salmonsoup was watery and lacking salt when it was said to be creamy. And these are easy dishes!!! Prices and ambience are ok but the taste if the food was not to our liking.More
