Finlandia Caviar is a family company run by Valeria Hirvonen and her son Kirill Siren. Both of them have been working with fish, roe, caviar and other seafoods for decades, Kirill Siren ever since his youth. Valeria Hirvonen has been awarded as the the woman entrepreneur of the year in 2012. In 2014 they opened the first caviar bar in Finland to the heart of Helsinki in Eteläranta 20. Its elegant interior, which expresses the simple Nordic style in its best, is designed by Joanna Laajisto, the awarded interior architect of year 2018. In addition to the large, self-imported selection of oysters you can find truffle products in Finlandia Caviar. GREAT FOOD FRESHLY PREPARED AND EFFICIENTLY SERVED

Having read reviews I booked on line. The restaurant is close to our hotel. The restaurant is quite small and doubles as a shop selling caviar, roe and other similar products. The waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient. We chose the selection of roes followed by the smoked salmon with poached egg. The food was delicious and the waiter gave a very helpful explanation of the roes served and the order they should be eaten. The wine and beer were excellent and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed the meal.

Stopped in on New Years Day

Stopped in on New Years Day for a little plate of oysters, and some bubbly to wash it down. We are oyster fans and this little place was memorable!!!!! Oysters in France, Ireland, or anywhere always interest us. These were some of the best anywhere!! The champagne was excellent, and the endless vodkas were stunning. Thank you Kirill for a great little repast.

CAVIAR WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK

Cozy little restaurant overlooking the harbor - you can see the “Helsinki Eye” from the window. We had their tasting menus for caviar and oysters. We tried the Helsinki Menu which was roe presented in 5 croustade cups. We had whitefish, vendace, lumpfish, keta salmon, and smoked trout. For the oysters, we ordered 12 pieces which we devoured down with the white wine we ordered. Our total cost was around €200. It was a bit steep but the service by Kiril was especially good that we did not mind. This should be a must for Helsinki visitors. I am going back there on Sunday.

Great place to try

A great place to try some oysters, we got the 6 to share as a light snack alongside some champagne. The lady serving us was very knowledgeable around where the oysters were from and taste. Very nice chilled setting and we will look to return again and try some other things on the menu

Sumptuous & Luxurious Meal in Helsinki !!!

FinlandiaCaviar was a spot my family and I enjoyed a very sumptuous and luxurious meal in, all the caviar served was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fresh and delightful to savour. The blinis were made to order and full of flavour, paired really well with all the condiments and of course, caviar! Their truffle omelette and caviar omelette were to die for! Of course the cost will be a lot, but one can never spend too much on good caviar and oysters! The lobster bisque was packed with flavour and hearty with generous amounts of lobster meat in it. The lobster roll is definitely something you need to try, the bread was beautifully toasted and the lobster was plenty! All in all worth a visit and definitely a spot we will return to if we are ever in Helsinki again!

A fun experience.

We really enjoyed the caviar with blinis at lunch. My spouse had the lobster roll, which he said was good, but if you're an American, it does not compare to what we have here. I ordered the lobster bisque, which I passed off to my husband after a few spoonfuls, as it was too 'fishy' tasting and couldn't eat it. The chocolate mousse with fruit was very good.

The best place to indulge and experience caviar!

We had such a great time here. The very friendly reception from the staff was a really positive start. Then the food came (we ordered the taster plate). The food looked amazing, tasted just as good, and was paired with really fantastic wines. I walked away having enjoyed some amazing caviar and supporting ingredients and wish the owner, chef and staff the very best.

It has taken already nearly 2 years ago when I visited to this restaurant. I told to my new friends of previous experience eating and drinking there. So, we decided to go and fimd our the status of this menu of them. It was surprised that in addition of old legendary favourites , the offering had been increased a lof of food especially. Many of our team tested new specialities : tryffel pasta, oyster stew, chanpagne soup etc. After all everything was perfect further on, talking about taste of food and service. It must be mentioned separate. The spirit of restaurant has been excellent and hospitality keeps you to come back again after years . That's why Finlandia Caviar has got the strong position among restaurant's world in Helsinki area. My friends were very happy of this visit and I convinced , this restaurant surely will be received many new culinary customers for long time.

Worth Every Penny - totally accessible luxury

This is a harbor neighborhood restaurant which is elegant but very friendly. We both had the caviar menu, a three course menu including a delicious black and white pasta dish with caviar. The caviar and oyster (I ordered one with truffle shavings a la carte) were exquisitely fresh and delicious. We are so glad we finished our two weeks in Helsinki with this wonderful dinner at Finlandia. Americans who are starting post-pandemic travel, Finland is an amazing country to visit. It seems like everyone is mulit-lingual and the common language is English. Fascinating and easy to navigate. Really good for kids. Do yourselves a favor and plan a vacation in Finland.

Been there for eating and tried the truffle pasta which have been very tasty. Service was friendly and doing their best but clearly understaffed with both people taking care of the service and the cooking, resulting into longer waiting time than expected. Hopefully it resolved by now. In overall a memorable good experience which will make us come back.

GF friendly and exquisite caviar bar!

Exceptional caviar bar / restaurant offering a wide variety of delicate dishes and catered for GF options. We travelled from Estonia for the day and it did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and the Prosecco was delicious.

This is a return visit to Finlandia. I was here last year and remembered it well. There is a variety of items made with caviar and various shellfish offerings. I love the lobster roll and the caviar topped egg

A Wonderful Surprise

A great find right off the harbor. I wasn’t attracted so much by the caviar but they had lobster roll. Wow! That sold me and it was worth it. The dessert I chose surprised me - chocolate oyster which was topped w caviar. And it worked - fantastic. The waiters were very helpful and taught me about caviar. It’s a small, intimate place that is well worth a visit. I hope to go back and try the caviar.
