Finnish institution, classic English-style pub

Popped in for a pint as we had spent the afternoon at the nearby Kansallismuseo. Looks like a traditional British boozer from the outside (including Fullers hanging sign!) and inside too. Good selection of beers on tap, including English ales and bitters, and by the bottle.

Good for food & beer

Nice pub - very popular and has a good range of beer. We went there as they also served food which many bars do not. We had large pizza and burger with lovely chips. Cosy pub and worth the visit

Baccata

We had decided to visit Töölönlahden puistoalue to live baccata. Baccata is a latin american dance. We drove to the City of Helsinki and went first to front of Odi and then to the right place. We danced a couple of Baccata. The atmosphere was fantastic. All dancing in their own style. Then we walked to St. Urho's Pub and ordered som drinks. A nice evening.

Excellent service!!!

After Bailantai -concert we headed Urhos Pub to have couple drinks. The place was great! Very cozy, classic pub. But the service was something else! They immediately noticed us when we walked in and registered, even though the bar was full. We got our drinks fast and got our cell charged. Fantastic!

A classic

A real classic, it has been there a long time. Very relaxed place where people go to have a beer or two. You can also order some pretty simple food. What is nice about the place is that as a difference to than many other places you can actually have a conversation with your friends since there is no music.

Very good pub for beer enthusiasts.

Nice and quiet pub (no music) with a couple cask ales and a cider on, also decent beers on keg and bottles. A "must" for the beer enthusiast. Good and big pizzas.

Good pub, nice pizzas

Good selection of beers and nice pizzas. Word of warning on the pizzas, they offer oregano and garlic on them as a garnish which is nice, but the garlic they add is in huge quantities so either skip it or ask for a small amount unless you really love garlic! Pizzas were great though, huge and very tasty.

Cost not to excessive!!!!!

We went to this Pub, on our trip to Helsinki, for dinner. We had Pizza which was nice and a soft drink. Given how expensive things are in Helsinki the cost of the meal was not to excessive. Pub inside was similar to a 1970s english pub.

Nice place

We went here twice on our trip. Once for drinks and another for dinner. Moderately priced food and drinks (Helsinki is rather expensive anyway). Many beers on tap and bottle; it was fun to try a new beer. Seemed to be a local hangout as well. For dinner I tried the reindeer; it was good. Needed more potatoes. Not sure it was worth it. The others got smoked reindeer pizza, which was really good.

A Regular English Pub

Attracted to this establishment by the Fullers Sign outside.. I could not resist the attraction of the beer. Unfortunatly they had no "London Pride" so substituted it with "ESB" . The atmosphere inside was good, and the "locals" friendly. This was a friendly establishment...

Very good pub

My husband and I met up with our Finnish friends at St. Urho's Pub. This was after World Con 75 Helsinki. We basically took over the pub. The staff was very accommodating. The ordering is at the bar. The selection of beers was impressive. They had our Helsinki favorite libations, long drinks, on tap. The pizza was surprising good. The crust was thin and delicious. There were a number of flavor options, including make your own. Yea! I can eat wheat in Finland without getting a headache. The decor is a Finnish humor nod to Uhro Kekkonen. Finns describe him to foreigners as the bald guy with glasses. For a meet up place chosen by other folks, St. Uhro's definitely surpassed our expectations.

Welcoming pub with good food

We couldn't resist the name of this pub and it was a good pick- quiet but friendly atmosphere & good food (in generous portions- the pizzas are huge!) I had a very lovely G&T and there was a good selection of beers too.

A welcome discovery

We had had a walk around Helsinki and were ready for a drink. Unfortunately The Pullman on Helsinki station was shut. However hadn't we passed a pub serving Fuller's the day before? There we went to the strangely named St. Urho's. There was a range of Finnish beers but pride of place went to three hand pumps dispensing Fuller's ESB and Salopian's Darwin's Origin. The third had on a cider. During our stay in Helsinki we managed a few visits to the St. Urho's. Real ale brewed in London and served to anyone who appreciates good beer excellently kept.

The quiet hum of contented conversation, no background music, and a wide selection of beers make this a perfect place to have a couple of quiet beers. The pizzas are really good too which is an added bonus. If I lived in Helsinki, this would be my local! If I could find a pub as nice as this back home that would be my local too!
