I have eaten sushi in over 15 countries, done by japanese and non-japanese. Wagocoro served the best sushi ever. Fish was well prepared, well cut and FRESH. The rice was just spot on. Wasabi was sharp and tasted of wasabi, not a mix of wasabi...and horseradish.More

Best Sushi in Helsinki, by FAR. Only bad thing about this place I think of, is the opening hours. Sadly the only reason why I visit the place infrequently.

It's BY FAR the best sushi in Finland and one of the best I've had in Europe. Why? Because there's no bull-shi-tting there. Magnificent sushi prepared by a Japanese chef and his wife is what sets the tone in this place instead of fancy interiors...or pretentious reinterpretations of a classic that is supposed to be simple. Sushi is served at body temperature, perfect seasoning, quick and respecting its Japanese roots. The premise is quite small (like 3 tables) and lacks "nice decor" (whatever that means) and that's it. You go there to eat an awesome feast, period. If you're up for fine-dining alike experiences this place does not suit you. Bear in mind it's not open for dinner and neither on weekends so you might have to plan yourself accordingly to go there. I do recommend you to do so though.More

Very delicious sushi. Everything was so fresh. It is a very small place which makes it very cosy. People were also very friendly.

The sushi here is really fresh and focuses on using local ingredients, the the menu is salmon heavy. Service is friendly and as each items is made to order, service can be quite slow. There are also only two tables seating a total of 8...people so be prepared to wait or call ahead and get your sushi to go.More

This tiny place is consired the best sushi restaurant in town. And that is certainly is. They have only 3 small tables, probably the idea is to take sushi home, but I have eaten there, in the afternoon there always room.

I have visited the place some times already and it always means delicious food. I usually take the Chef's choice and some fresh spring rolls. Every bite is highly enjoyed. The place is small and in total might have 7 places so it is better...to make a reservation or take away the food. Even when this issue is regarded the overal rate is 5 star. The staff is very friendly and polite!More

I went to Wagocoro based on the other reviews here, and boy, I wasn't disappointed. They really do serve the best sushi I have ever eaten in Finland, and honestly, they compare very, very well to all the places I have visited on my trips...to Asia as well. Those bites just melt in your mouth, so wonderful and balanced. I couldn't bring myself to even use wasabi, just wanting to focus on the sushi itself. The service is very friendly and personable, and the selection contains all the standards as well as some surprising bonuses you don't get at every sushi place. The only obvious downside to Wagocoro is that there is seating for about six people at the restaurant. While it gives the place a really unique feel, it is a pity more people can not enjoy the food at once. You can always take the sushi to go, of course. So, when people tell you this is the best sushi, you best believe them. I can say it isn't cheap, but it is worth it.More
