Very small restaurant, seating only about 25-30 customers. Casual place and menu is pretty limited. More like a casual wine bar than a full restaurant, however, the few dinner portions on the menu we ordered were really excellent. Fish grilled Greek style whole with skin on and lamb with potatoes was really tasty. Service was really attentive and the owner/waiter was clearly knowledgeable about the wines. Everything imported from Greece and very good. Liked it a lot

Gran Delicato is located conveniently in downtown Helsinki and consists of two parts: A cafe and a wine bar, where you can get food as well. The cafe has a nice athmosphere and extensive lunch list. It is popular lunch spot in the area and has a solid loyal customer base. The owner Kostas is nearly always behind the counter which shows great commitment to the business and quality of food. They serve fresh salads and panini as well and opening hours are convenient, also during the weekends, Wine bar which is located on the Alberinkatu side has a very good Greek themed menu and excellent selection of wines. They are open normally till late.
I can very warmly recommend Gran Delicato for lunch, a drink or dinner, or all of the above. It is a gem in the Helsinki restaurant/cafe/winebar scene.

Excellent and typical Greek food. Felt very authentic. Small restaurant with a cozy and informal atmosphere. Great and personal service. Fantastic wines at surprising low prices (low mark-up). We enjoyed the evening and the restaurant experience. The restaurant was highly recommended from a local friend, when we requested a relaxing, informal meal. We were not disappointed. Very affordable. Great value for the money!

Great selection of Greek wines. Owner Dimi kindly guides you through the list and gives recommendations to match tasty Greek basic dishes. Relaxed atmosphere. Do not expect to have all food served same time for all the table and enjoy wines while waiting your food. My husband likes the sparkling wines here over champagne, and you might get surprised if you try. Really a joy 🥂 Try Greek liquors as dessert, my favorite used to be coffee, but now I am a big fan of bergamotte.

Always good food and excellent wines at Gran Delicato. Today we enjoyed the hospitality of the owner Dimitrios with some good friends. We shared calamaries, meat balls, Saganaki, lamb neck and sausages.

This is my go to place when ever I feel I need something simple and delicious. The coffee is always on the point, witch you can not say about most of coffee shops in Helsinki. I always have the same Chiabata and can't get enough of it. Staff is always friendly and they sell the best olive oil. Love this place

We chose to eat here on our first night in Helsinki as the reviews were good and it was a short walk from where we were staying. We reserved a table via WhatsApp and it was ready for us as we arrived. To avoid any possible confusion the restaurant kitchen closes at 8pm not the restaurant itself. The restaurant is small with around 7/8 tables in 2 adjoining rooms. It feels very cosy inside.
The owner was very friendly and spoke excellent English. He took us through the menu and checked for any allergies. The menu is really small and isn’t really set up that well to understand what could be a starter and what would be a main course size. I chose the Greek salad and the Greek sausage (starter size) and my wife had the prawns. We were brought bread to mop up the good juices on all the plates.
The Greek salad was excellent and tasted so fresh. I thought the sausage was very over cooked as it tasted so dry. My wife had 6 prawns on her plate which was good for the cost but there wasn’t anything else on the plate and nothing else on the menu to go with it. The prawns were great but just by themselves didn’t really fill her up.
So we had generally decent food but with a strange menu line up we didn’t leave as satisfied as we had hoped

We enjoyed a lovely dinner together with a group of friends and shared various Greek mezédes in combination with great wines. If you haven't tried Greek sparkling wine before, order a bottle of Karanika and enjoy it together with their amazing grilled Saganaki cheese.
Very friendly staff, good service, and music! We will definitely be back soon

Cozy atmosphere, service by Dimi is so smooth without any sort of feeling that you are watched.
Food is good and different kinds of wine served which go along with their dishes.

We really enjoyed here!
Dimi made us feel so warmly welcomed from the beginning.
Loved the atmosphere, local winelist and also food was really tasteful and authentic.
His way of service was top ten, even my early teenager felt good 🥰
We will definitely come again!

We had the pleasure of dining here tonight! The owner invited us in warmly and took care of us for the entire evening. We dined on the grilled cheese with a lovely accompaniment of a mixed bean salad, deep fried octopus, skewered prawns with lemon. All fresh and sumptuous! I could not interpret the Greek wines but he delivered beautifully on that too. If you want fresh food with delicious wine and great customer service do yourself a favour and dine here!

If you wish to get a taste of true Greek delicacies and taverna culture, look no further! Dimi is a charming host who knows the Greek wines inside-out and takes extra measures to give you a pleasant experience. The laid-back atmosphere and the coolest bathroom in Helsinki add the cherry on the top.

Finally a good coffee. Dear Italian friends, if you want a coffee done well this is the right place. They also have some croissants for breakfast and dishes or brunch sandwiches and quick lunch.
Very nice staff, tables to sit outside. Medium fast service.

Had Greek evening with group of friends. Planned it a bit beforehand with Dimi, Taverna host & owner, and the evening was great. We started with Greek beers, ouzo and excellent sparkling wine. Then continued with starters, Mykonos sausages, mavromatika salad, fava bean and taramosalata dips. Dimi recommended very good wines to match. Then main courses, souvlaki and papoutsaki. With some wine & greel shot like grappa. For dessert halva, Greek sweets & licors. It was lovely ❤️
We need to come back when Dimi has papoutsaki, he needs just to tell us. Papoutsaki is not on the menu every day.
This works best, if you contact Dimi beforehand, because kitchen is small and there are no other staff than Dimi
