We had a wonderful evening at Vinkkeli when holidaying in Helsinki. The atmosphere is elegant and the service attentive. The food was amazing - an Asian style fish (the ‘special’ on that night) that was just the right amount of flavour and spice and certainly...not what we expected to find in a Nordic restaurant. We’d definitely be straight back if we were to visit Helsinki again. The soft flurry of snow as we left only added to the magic of the night. Thanks to all at Vinkkeli for looking after us!More

Lovely setting for a fabulous dining experience. We had a 4 course meal with wine pairings. All the food and presentations were amazing. Each course was unique and well prepared. I have many allergies that our lovely waitress Sara ensured she understood and the chef...accommodated with excellent substitutions/adjustments. A beautiful restaurant that we chose for Valentines dinner, but in Finland would be to celebrate Friendship Day. The staff is nice, the sommelier super nice. They offered almost any wine in the menu as carafe. They have a daily 4 course chef’s menu EUR...62 that can be paired with wine + EUR 60. Or the ala carte menu. The menu has 3 options as starter, and 3 options for main. Cheese plate and dessert. We went with the ala carte. Lamb terrine and cheese platter for starter. Yes. I eat cheese on my starter. Main OX my husband said was nice but not amazing. I chose the cod. It was very nicely made, but the difference was the sweet potato flavour and the black lentils. Dessert orange sorbet and mouse. A bit tangy for my taste but looks very nice. I would easily recommend.More

We were a group of 10 and had 4 course dinner with champagne tasting at downstairs private room. First we had a magnificent tasting with experienced sommelier who really knew everything. The dinner was carefully prepared and served as you could assume at a Guide...Michelin restaurant. Would love to eat here again!More

Vinkkeli has earned its place as a popular dinner spot in Helsinki. A classic setting with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The steak tartare was sublime and the pike-perch absolutely fresh. To round off the dinner we got some cheese - a good assortment, high quality,...but the way they were served were a bit rough, out of style. Rich wine list. It's been a while since I visited but this place is worth a re-visit soon.More

Came here because of recommendations. Booked ahead, restaurant was very busy for dinner. We took the four course menu and were pleased overall. Everything was tasty enough, portions adequate. Service very attentive and friendly. Design minimalist, a bit businesslike. Overall a pleasant experience.

Exceptional 5 course meal with wine pairing! The food was outstanding, the service was phenomenal, and the restaurant was very nice and clean. We had a very nice late evening meal and it was our favorite meal in Helsinki. The split-pea soup was the best...I’ve ever had! Recommend reservations. You will love it!More

We had the 4 course menu with matching wines. Everything was top-notch. The service was very attentive and friendly, the ambience very pleasant. Highly recommendable.

30.4. ( Labor/Walborg/Vappu evening ) menu with recommnded wines exept that I prefered dark bier with toast skagen over wine. The skagen was OK, deconstructed as is in the fashion now, but this did not add anything to it. Very nice fresh shrimps in it....The first entre or main course was creme ninon, French pea soup with fresh peas and creme: very tasty. Unfortunately we thought that the choron-sauce base was in our opinion too much reduced? Anyhow it was so salty and acidic that it couldn't match any wine and was indeed left on the plate mostly. Some very acidic onion on the side didn't help at all. The nicely grilled flank steak was thus almost ruined. Chocolate cake dessert with touch of whipped cream and sour cherry was again OK. For the menu recommended wines were mostly OK.More

This restaurant has a proven quality since years. Our 1st visit did meet our expectations. Friendly service and extremely tasty 4 dish menu met all the reviews that has been written. Highly recommended.

Vinkkeli is a wonderful restaurant. The food is A+. We had the Iberico Pork and the Perch. We both had the roasted sweet potatoes with chimichurry sauce. It was a really good dinner! The service was excellent and our waiter quite pleasant. The wine list...is extensive, and the physical facilities charming. The restaurant is quite popular so book ahead.More
