A nice little restaurant with character in the middle of town. They offer decent meals at average Oulu prices. Service was generally good though unnecessarily slow to have us shown to a table. It was also rather disappointing that considering they call themselves a bakery it took a while to receive a couple of slices of bread, and they never considered offering us a refill. The fish and chips was good, but rather simple.
All in all a tasty meal, but nothing exceptional.

Puistola (also known as Kitchen, Bakery and Wine Bar Cantina) has a separate bakery cafeteria and a separate restaurant. The Art Nouveau building was earlier the first cinema in Oulu. So the cafeteria-restaurant is situated in a very historical building.
The restaurant offers both breakfast (sometimes also brunch), lunch portions and dinners. They have artisan pizzas and à la carte portions. Besides, also set menus with 3-5 courses/dishes are available. I loved the fish catch of the day and mud cake with spruce root ice cream and whipped cream. Very delicious!

This place is also a wine bar and a restaurant. On our visit at noon, people were enjoying products from the bakery. The kitchen for a la carte meals was opened later.
The interior is modern and colorful although the place is located in an old stunning building.
After the hotel breakfast, we were not hungry yet and just ordered local Toppila beers. The price for 40 cl was 8,90.
The service was friendly.

Tried to visit this lovely restaurant Saturday evening with our friends. There were free tables and the kitchen was still open for more than an hour. We saw a free round table at the window with no reservation. We asked for it but couldn’t get it because we were a group of 4 persons and the table was for 6 persons. Unbelievable!
Luckily we got a window table in the restaurant opposite and enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner.

We discovered this place by accident and I must admit that I have never eaten such a good pizza outside Italy.
Absolutely to try if you are in Oulu. The combination of the ingredients of the pizza I ate, perhaps unusual for an Italian, was fantastic! And I also tasted other pizzas, chosen by my friends, all delicious! Bravi! Complimenti!

A bit disappointed in their lamb dish. The cream that tasted like mayonnaise did not get well with the other great tastes at all!
The dish was also quite small and didn't meet my expecrations as a decent main course. Howevet, my friend was very happy with their veal.
Not going back. The price and the experience did not meet.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Oulu. Every time I go to the north, I want to go to Puistola to eat. To my delight, the restaurant also had the same waiter as a year ago. He had just moved to Finland and it's hard to find more positive staff. It's wonderful to receive cheerful and friendly service and really high-quality and tasty food. Thank you!

After walking around Oulu, Puistola is a perfect place for lunch or just a coffee. It is centrally located and has a wide variety of pastries, pizza and other items for lunch or just a snack

If you are looking for a good quality pizza, I can recommend Puistola. Also the home made salmiak icecream is nice to try, enjoy!

This was the 2nd time I had pizza innthis restaurant. They had changed the restaurant and now they are serving a la carte meals and pizza at the ground floor. It used to be in the cellar which was much more convenient place. Upstairs is acoustically horrifying when the place is full...I would recommend to do something for the echo... But about pizzas...Napoli style pizza did not have enough cheese...my better half told it was the 2nd worst pizza ever... My New York style pizza was ok'ish...no big complaints but no big waves either... I have to mention that service in this place is extremely good and kind...this is always appreciated. But...I think next time I would choose another place for pizza in Oulu as there are many other (good) choises...like Pannu and Da Mario...
