Our tour guide suggested Roka for dinner and we tried it. It was the best dinner experience in Rovaniemi over 3 dinners. The phone was always answered and the lady spoke very good English to handle our table reservation and food requirements. The food was really amazing and tasty from Starter (Shared Nordic Platter) to Mains/Sides (Steaks) to Desserts. The Chef tends to be heavy on the salt, so ask for no/less salt if you prefer so. Wine selection was decent yet pricey like the rest of Finland. Service was efficient considering that only one server was in the house. Remember that that are two Roka in town and close to each other, we went to the other Roka by error with Taxi. Roka team, we will be back.

Ate her twice in between meeting Santa and mushing dogs. A deservedly popular restaurant w very good service and consistency. I had the salmon soup (wonderful) and pork belly one night (great as well - sweet and savory and perfect low-and-slow) one night and the Arctic char the other. 1 star off only bc chips and mayo were a bit chain restaurant standard and the Arctic char dish was very good, just a bit uninspired. These aren’t totally fair deductions because really, I think theyre playing to familiarity for their audience. I’m fairly sure they’re very consistent, and the sandwiches looked yummy! I would have no problems recommending or returning.

Roka has a small, intimate atmosphere, where reservations would be helpful. We popped in Sunday evening around 6pm. Luckily the window tables were available.
The service was excellent, with just one waitress/hostess and 1 chef. They are able to serve the whole restaurant pretty well.
The food is excellent, we started with Flavors of the North, a sampling of local meats, the salmon is so fresh, like sushi. Then we both got the salmon soup, really broth and flavorful. It filled us up!
The wines pair well with their dishes, and it shows a lot of attention is given to each and every dish. The chef even catches his own fish that he serves!
This place is great and very popular.

My friends and I wish to try some reindeer but with a bistro style cuisine and we were told to visit this quaint restaurant. Wonderful experience. Such good food and such large portions. Entered hungry and lefted feeling stuffed and a sense of enjoyment. A merry 20 people for max capacity but perfect for a lunch and even main meal. Pricing for me was very much like a gourmet bistro in Dublin, Ireland. My experience here was so good. Nice staff also

My wife and I dined at the Roka for my birthday. The restaurant is cosy, but has a great atmosphere. The waitress and there’s only one was amazing looking after everybody extremely well. The food we had was stunning the mixed platter was amazing combination of flavours, which complemented each other. Our main course was the rain deer fillet it melted in the mouth, to enjoy I suggest you have medium rare. A wonderful restaurant not to be missed an excellent chef and waitress with a great menu.

24.9.2022 time 20.00 evening. Really bad 😡 The food was cold, wine (67€) include also some strange dumplings ?? on the bottom . Everything was expensive , cold and small dishes for the prize. So I will never go there again.
The restaurant was empty, but we waited our food 2 hour. 10 Persons, we have a reservation.
The manager- Tiia? Miia?
How can she be this position ? Manager was disaster.
She was acting really strange,- making excuse things for the customers, us. She show us really clearly that she was upset that we wasn't placed our food and why not??!
The waitresses was so sweet she was doing her best - Thank You ❤️ But not the manager.

Our last night, a sunday night, before flying home again, we would like to eat in Rovaniemi.
In Finland most restaurants and shops are closed on sunday.
At the reception of our hotel they told us, this restaurant was open.
She ordered by phone a table for 2 persons and called for a taxi to bring us to this restaurant.
When we arrived at this place, indeed a table for 2 was ready.
It's a burger and streetfood cafe and looked good.
We had a nice dry wine and ordered " flavours of the north for two ".
It looked very good and also tasted very good. Because our flight was early in the morning, we just wanted good food, not a whole evening dinner.
Well, this was the right choise. The Lapland bread and the salmon were delicious.
Also the salmon mousse was very good.
My husband enjoyed the the reindeer-meat to.
After a cup of coffee they called a taxi for us to go to the hotel for having a few hours sleep.
It was really a good idea to go to this place !

We visited this place for a lunch today. Everything what we ordered was very good. My wife loved salmon soup, my kids were amazed by salmon risotto and small fishes coming with a starter and I enjoyed reindeer steak. Recommended to visit.

Tasty food made out of quality ingredients. Despite fairly diversified offering with both bistro and street food menus the quality and taste were very good throughout the dishes from starters to main courses. Special requests from kids as well as allergies were nicely taken into consideration. Given the small size of the restaurant, remember to make a reservation in high season. Strong recommendation if you looking for quality food with laid back attitude in Rovaniemi.

Had a lovely night here.
We were looking for some local cuisine, but the popular restaurants were already booked up (on a cold Monday night in February). We tried Roka, way off the main street, and although it was full, the first waitress said that if we could wait 15 minutes, a long table for 4 should became available and she’d keep it for us.
True to her word, the table became available and she called us in.
Between us, we had two different risottos and salmon soups and Arctic char (fish). All very nice.
The two girls that served us were lovely. So patient as we faffed around with the menu and the bill.
Really recommended.

We got the platter with a lot of local flavours for two, as well as a reindeer sandwich and the salmon risotto. Everything was tasty and filling. The service was polite and made suggestions which we appreciated a lot! Would definitely come back!

Small place located in a street parallel to the central one of Rovaniemi, reachable on foot in a few minutes. It offers à la carte menus and also street food (various types of burgers). We tried the "flavours of the north" as an appetizer (a dish with some samples of typical food: salmon, reindeer, marinated local fish, marinated fennel and watermelon, etc) followed by a salmon soup (yummy!) and fish and chips (a nice thick fillet with a plate of delicious fried potatoes); they have a very good local beer. It was all really good! The place is often crowded and does not accept reservations (at least on our day) but with a little patience or returning after a while they will seat you. Friendly staff, fast service, reasonable price. Advised!

We stopped here for a quick last meal before our flight back. Quite a few restaurants in Rovaniemi are closed on the Sunday so were grateful to find a spot at the Ravintola.
The salmon soup was hearty and delicious and warmed us up after a full day of hiking in the snow. The portions of chips and halloumi fries were also generous.

Quite expensive for the size of the food. There were 3 pieces (4cm long, 3cm tall, 1cm width) of reindeer meet for 43 euros. Veggy chips included but not the normal ones. The pumpkin risotto was amazing so great flavour, the same as the salmon soup. The reindeer sausage had no flavour. The salmon mouse is perfect.

Awesome place, cozy, friendly staff, and the best food ever we tasted on Rovaniemi. The prices are good for Finland, and specially for Rovaniemi. We ordered Fish&Chips and Porc&Chips as main dishes and we were delighted with the quality of the food. Definitely a restaurant to visit in Rovaniemi.
