Cozy and delicious

The selection of dishes in the menu is quite diverse. I think it is important that there are options of local meals because it is always interesting though the restaurant is rather French. The taste was also really good. The waitresses patiently allowed me to practice my poor Finnish (my special thanks for this!) but also were fluent in English. Worth to mention that we tried there green tea and it was very good. Only one bad thing - simple water was not free.

Fast service, quiet, mediocre food

Many of Rovaniemi's best restaurants are busy during the winter holiday season, and some are closed on a Sunday. We chose this one because there were lots of free tables. We were served quickly, and the food was ok but nothing special, typical for a Finnish chain restaurant. I had the salmon which for €25 was overpriced. My wife had the blinies which were soggy and under cooked. Our server was clearly annoyed when my wife mentioned that to her.

Generally a clean place. Waiters seems to be very busy as it was difficult to get the invoice. No questions during the dining how the food tastes. Had raindeer (poronkäristys) was average not special unfortunately. Have to admit a little tasteless. Restaurant is a chain place so that’s what you get. Consider some other place if you want to have experience. If need something fast to fill your belly, this is the place.

Nice dinner

We had dinner here, 8 of us. We had reindeer filet, beef filet, chicken dishes. We had a charcuterie board as an appetizer and the chocolate dessert was incredible! Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere. We were there early because of our group size and plans for the evening. Service was awesome.

Enjoyable dinner

This restaurant has a good location near the river. It is the hotel restaurant at Sokos Hotel Vaakuna. The food was tasty. I could make some changes to my grill steak. There was an 'After Work' offer (on weekdays 14-18) for wine bottles. They were just 18 euros. The service was very friendly.

The food was good and tasty and the staff was friendly. We celebrated a family member's birthday. The staff took the opportunity into account nicely. She was served first and at the end of the evening the restaurant gave her a box of sweets as a gift.

Really delicious!

This is a fairly large restaurant with several areas, so everything is cozy. The service is quite fast and diligent. We took the tasting menu, there are 4 more set-menus. Well, a la carte. For 51 euros per adult we got a cool mushroom cream soup with nuts, juicy and soft reindeer steaks, a rather large piece of salmon, a bright risotto with beets, and other baked trifles. It turned out to be very tasty. The children also ate the baked potatoes with meatballs and desserts with gusto. By the way, there is also a salad bar for those who wish, but we already took almost half of the hot food with us. The main disadvantage of the establishment is the narrow and uninteresting selection of wines/alcohol. Otherwise, we liked it here more than in other places.

Best reindeer fillet ever!!

Due to the covid restrictions was quite difficult to get a table for dinner everywhere, we managed to get one here even though there wasn’t much time left for having dinner. Our waitress was really good and helpful very quick in taking orders and getting our food, very nice with our daughter. I had the best reindeer fillet in my life, other dishes were good too. Price was in line with local price.

Tasty food and great service

Restaurant Frans & Cherie Bistro turned out to be a very positive surprise. Although it is a so-called chain restaurant, the food was very good and tasty. The asparagus appetizer, as well as the pikeperch main course, were very well made. The taste was fresh, and the ingredients were good. The service went really well and was very friendly. I will be happy to visit again.

Great food and excellent service

We had Chicken and asparagus risotto with dark thyme sauce and Grilled steak, Crème Brûlée for dessert. All food was very tasty and well made and the service was exceptionally good. Warm recommendation!

We came to an almost empty restaurant four o'clock. We had as starters snails and brioche skagen, which tasted ok, skagen was rather small. Crispy chicken with vegetables was disappointing, it was crispy all right but not much more. The portion was rather small. Service was quite ok.

Excellent meal - highly recommend!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My wife and daughters had the salmon, and I had the black & white pork tenderloin. Everything was excellent. Oh and the escargot was superb as well. The staff was very friendly and I can only recommend this place. Five stars!

The food tasted fantastic. The way they were prepared and served was excellent. We tried the salmon soup, the reindeer steak, and the crispy chickens from the kids menu. The glögi was also fantastic with rosemary sprigs and berries.

Great place for lunch

We stopped here for lunch as we didn't want fast food and a nice lunch in from the cold outside. We all had the burgers which were great. I have a cow milk and soya allergy and loved that they swapped out my bun. The staff were lovely. Happy we came across this place.

Clean. Good service with good english knowledge. Time for a little chat and a joke. Delicious food and huge portions. Try something New and taste the reindeer liver. We (Wife, husband and Mother in law are going back next time in Rovaniemi)
