Highly recommended for a nice dinner-out (especially for a cosy date night) during your stay in Rovaniemi. Sophisticated dining with a really nice interior. However, the prices were slightly too high for the amount and quality of food you get. The quality of food does not reflect the interior.
Furthermore, our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend anyone staying in Rovaniemi to visit here and try some local food.
PS: Making a reservation is highly recommended.

I am not a big fan of set menus especially during festive seasons but Arctic restaurant changed my mind. The food was excellent in taste and presentation. We were welcomed at the hotel lobby area where there was Santa Claus posing for pictures and also gave a present to our little one. The staff are super friendly. A night to remember. Highly recommended.

The venue is a pleasantly modern fine dining restaurant with atmospheric lights and mellow rhythmic music.
All the waiters we observed seemed very professional and handled both Finnish and English service very well.
We both had the chef's 5 course menu with the recommended wine package. Without ruining the surprise of what is included in the menu it was a splendid introduction to cuisine in lapland while still preserving the fine-dine feel.
We were asked preferences on wines for the courses, however, we went with the waiter's recommendations and all of them complimented the foods very well. Unless you have a clear preference for specific types of wines I would recommend doing the same.

Nice place elegantly furnished. Very well presented but not very tasty dishes. Quite high prices but in the Scandinavian average. What spoils the place is the attitude of the waiters. Dining room staff absolutely not of level and not up to the situation. We waited half an hour for the menu, the person who finally deigned to take the orders was leaving without asking what we wanted to drink.

Hostess arguing with people, food server never asked how food was, incredibly slow service, chef presents boring and quite uninspired dishes.
Skip this underwhelming overrated place.
Average uninspired food, horrible service at dinner.Set seating hours. Restaurant is empty but guests are placed in tables next next to each other (while there are another dozen tables throughout the room).additionally, we were placed next to kitchen door.
Slow, very slow service. Almost left it was so slow.
Food flavor was bland, plating was boring. Service is way below average.
Breakfast buffet is standard, but upon entering, watched male staff watching a video on his phone. No greeting.

Hello. We are so sorry to hear that your visit didn´t quite go as planned here in the Arctic Restaurant, Rovaniemi, Finland. We still would like to mention that actually we don´t have set seating hours here at our restaurant. Also the kitchen is not right next to the restaurant, so our guests are not seated next to the kitchen door. You must have been sitting somewhere else. If our staff only would have known that you also didnt like the food, we could have compensate it to you right away. Also during covid-19 pandemic we have been avoiding to seat our guests right next to each other. Once again we are sorry how you felt your experience here and we hope to be able to welcome you to Rovaniemi and Finnish Lapland again.

First of all, when we arrived we were told it is fully booked but they did found us a table and in all of the hour and a half we were there the restaurant remained mostly empty and they kept turning people away. The food was too salty. One of our dishes was barely touched and they didn't say anything or asked anything. The burger fell completely apart. The desert was ok. Not worth the price.

The food was utterly delicious. I had a roasted reindeer salad... only 22 Euros for a salad brimming with berries and salad items. The reindeer was tender and tasty. The staff made us special cocktails including local items like lingonberry liqueur. Dessert was a fantastic cloudberry sorbet,only 4 euro. Best meal I've eaten in ages!

Lappish food is something you need to try when in Lapland. This place seems like a good choice for that. The sautéed reindeer was very good and surprisingly light. The crab sandwich was also excellent. The beer and wine selection is really nice. The service is good. The prices are a bit high, but having a world class meal in the arctic is worth it. Recommended for a long dinner in a good atmosphere.

The food was delicious and well served.
We had the shrimp soup as an appetizer, which was very creamy and tasty.
We took the moose and reindeer as mains and both meats were tender and cooked as we asked for.
We recommend it for a nice dinner in Rovaniemi.

We went to the „Arctic Restaurant“ for our anniversary. We expected good food and a nice restaurant but our expectation were surpassed!
I have to start with the perfect service of our waiter Waldemar. He was very polite and could answer all our questions about the food and wine-menu. Allthough the restaurant was full, he was always near when we needed something and we never had to wait too long.
I had the „Arctic menu“ with the wine package and my girlfriend had the „Raindeer and porcini mushroom“, the „Chef‘s Burger“ and a chocolate cake that was officially only on the tasting menu of the day but the chef was so kind to let us order it separately.
The food was perfectly cooked and beautifully garnished. The suggested wine choices were a great addition to the meal.
All in all we had a great experience and will definitely come again on our next trip to Rovaniemi.

Beautiful atmosphere. Very attentive and thoughtful staff.
As we never been in in Lapland before we decided to try a set menu. The Arctic menu was a delightful choice. The salmon starter was well balanced, the raindear and moose main really exceed expectations and the arctic suprise desert was a beautiful finish of the three course supper.

Food was above average, starter portion extremely small considering the wine pairing. Wine overpowered the starter as there wasn’t much to compliment the wine.
Main was ample and not as delicately presented as the starter. Good wine pairing.
Now let me get to the manners of the front of house. When spending the money you do at a restaurant like this (total bill €280.00) one thing you don’t expect half way through a €60 bottle of wine is to be presented with the bill and hoofed on on your way to go and sit in the hotel lobby because they have decided your time in their company (just shy of 2hrs - starters, wine, main and desert) is past due.
Just absurd and atrocious customer recognition and appreciation.
Either get rid of front of house and employ a more genuine staff complement that can communicate in a decent manner with their customers, or just become a take-away outfit like a McDonald’s and look to turnover your patrons like a number which my wife and i were treated like.
What a shame. A good evening ruined by one rude, inconsiderate individual. What a let down.
Will not be back whatsoever, and I will damn make sure no-one I know ever visits this restaurant

If you're looking for local food, you won't find it in Santa Claus Village, but eat here instead.
Sure, the prices aren't cheap here either, but the ambience, the service and above all the food were absolutely great and worth every euro. You should definitely make a reservation, as there were a few guests who had to leave without a reservation. We had the salad with reindeer and the moose/reindeer together with super delicious blueberry juice and creme brule.
A great evening and a clear recommendation!

We spent two nights in Rovaniemi in February 2024. We looked at the reviews of the restaurants there and decided to go to the Arctic Restaurant because we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice evening. We were very lucky to get a table for dinner without a reservation! The restaurant has a wonderful vibe. The atmosphere is relaxed (we did not have to dress up), and relaxing (the friendly staff took their time to inform us about the menu offerings and gave us much-needed advice about local food and wine pairings). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his dish of reindeer filet and moose (slow-cooked in duck fat). I loved the vegetarian options.

The “Arctic Restaurant“ is a wonderful spot to enjoy your dinner in a great atmosphere. The food was cooked on point and the service was fast and courteous. My server Waldemar did an excellent job and I can only recommend this place!
