Went there for late lunch and was lucky we did not have to queue for a table. The restaurant housed in a teepee has very limited seats. The grilled salmon served with a bun was tasty (no fishy smell) and the price was reasonable (22 euro)

The concept of this restaurant is so simple. 1 snack, 1 main course & 1 dessert option. Freshly prepared salmon cooked on the fire right in front of you. A generous portion served with a bread roll & potato salad. Easy, yummy & totally worth the wait outside. The restaurant is in a traditional Finish hut - Kota - has limited seating so during meal times it is high in demand & you need to wait in a queue till a table is available. Worth every cold minute & every cent. A stunning experience.

the BEST salmon I have ever had.. juicy, tasty and paired together with simple sides of potato salad and bread, it was definitely a worthy reward for the hour long wait in the cold. Excellent service too. A very authentic experience in a cosy hut with a bustling fire in the middle. The cheesecake for dessert added the sweetest end to a glorious meal.

I´m surprised that this restaurant doesn´t have a Michelin Star yet! Best Salmon I´ve ever had, cool music and great atmosphere! We visited the Santa´s Salmon Restaurant in middle of December. This restaurant is in traditional Lappish Teepee which gives it that unique cosy feeling. Kind staff prepare salmon on the open fire in front of your eyes. Salmon was fresh and so delicious with only one ingredient – salt. No wonder that they are first on Trip Advisor! What a great experience! Don´t miss this place if being in Lapland.

Our family of four visited here in October just as the first snow had come. This place has a terrific atmosphere in a traditional hut. They char the salmon right in front of you and it was some of the tastiest salmon I’ve eaten. And as a Finn, I’ve had a lot of salmon. The service was also top-notch and the staff was really friendly.

Yes - it’s just salmon. If you go as a couple, you can attempt to share one portion, but get yourself a portion each and enjoy it like an adult. The bread and the potato salad are a brilliant accompaniment to this juicy, perfectly cooked piece of fish. Prepare to queue for what feels like too long (even though it was probably about 30 mins) - it’s definitely worth it!

It's a great experience to visit this restaurant. It's a snow-covered tent like the one found in childhood fairy tales. A small room made of wood in the shape of a large tent. The handle that holds the door open is a large horn of a Reindeer. It's around -17 this time. So To escape from the bitter cold outside, we quickly went inside ...inside a fire was kindled in the middle of the room. The dining benches and desks are Barely half a foot wide around,. And the seats are Full. However, within five minutes we got a place to sit. Because the coals are piled up in the middle and the sides are covered with a good thick leather typed material, not even a speck of cold can come in and that feels so good. Two beautiful menu cards were carved into wooden boards. One is for food and the other is for drinks. There are only a few items on the food menu. 1. fresh grilled salmon, including traditional Finnish salad and bread. 2. Lapland's traditional cheese is made with cloudberry jam. 3. An amazing Scandinavian cheesecake. On the drinks menu, their traditional coffees and local beer. We ordered everything on the food menu, along with beer. As soon as the order was received, the grilling of the salmon fish began. They grill the salmon on the same fire in the middle of the room. As we can see they don't add anything on grilling just to add some smoke that gives its amazing aroma and flavour. We enjoyed the ambience and taste and wish to spend more time. But unfortunately, people are waiting in the queue to get a seat so we moved. I will recommend this as on the must-visit in Lapland.

During our visit to Finland, we ate various typea of food, from burguers, to vietnamese to finish food. But salmon, moatly raw and smoked is a favourite in thos family. We realized that this simple salmon, yet cooked to perfection salmon, was amazing and the food favourite of our trip. The restaurant is tiny, one person does it all and efficiently, it is veryyyy warm inside, as the fireplace where the salmon is cooked is a meter away from every table. Even though, we though we would leave the restaurant stinking of salmpn and it turns out we didn't! A suggestion: try to find alternatives to the disposablw items, such as the container for the pptato salad, for example.

At the end of a very long second day at Santa's Village we decided to eat before going back to Rovaniemi, we had read and heard reviews of the Salmon Place before visiting so we decided to give it a try. It is a simple restaurant with tables surrounding a central fireplace with very friendly staff. The menu consisted of three items... yes only three items. When you do something as well as they do it, you do not need any more items. The salmon was perfectly cooked in front of us (they use the fireplace as a grill) and was delicious. The only thing I wish is that we had tried on our first day so we could have eaten there again. Well worth the visit and wait.

Santas Salmon Place is a great experience. We had to wait a little while, but it was worth it! Smokey salmon cooked right in front of us in a teepee! Delicious, fresh, hot. All the seats face the fire in the middle, so you may end up sitting next to a new friend :) Highly reccommend.

We went here as a group of 7 and everyone loved it. The food is simple but utterly delicious - the salmon is perfectly cooked and mouthwatering, the potato salad has tiny pieces of gherkin to give it a lovely tang and the bread is fresh and warm. Cold beverages really are delightfully cold, and the gingerbread we got with the hot chocolate was undoubtedly the best I had ever tasted. It was -18 the day we were there and we needed to keep our coats on inside despite the fire, but realistically you don't really want to be taking all the layers off and putting them back on all the time anyway so that wasn't a problem.

It's a great experience to visit this restaurant. Usually long queue will be there and its a small room. We made it sure that we went a bit early at around 12 pm. There are only a few food items in the menu. 1. fresh grilled salmon, including traditional Finnish salad and bread. 2. Lapland's traditional cheese is made with cloudberry jam. We ordered some hot drinks (glogi and Hot berry) We enjoyed the ambience and taste and wish to spend more time.

This eatery is located in Santa's Village in a teepee. The menu only consists of about 4 items, salmon, potato salad and desserts. The concept is simple salted salmon cooked over an open flame. Seating is limited and teepee is only heated by the cooking fire. The salmon was absolutely delicious. I also had the tasting dessert of cheese with cloudberry jam. An all around neat experience with fantastic food.

Delicious salmon and delightful baked cheese with cloudberry. We lined up for about 40mins in the snow and felt it was well worth it. If you aren’t a salmon lover, this isn’t the place for you, as salmon is the main thing they serve.

The salmon, bread and potato salad were all very good and certainly plenty of food to fill you up. Felt it was a good value for the price and atmosphere in terms of watching your meal cook. We arrived when they first opened because we had eaten breakfast very early. Structure at this time was very cold. We kept on our hats and gloves. By the time we left they were comfortable to remove. A bit luck of the draw in terms of you meal and when you come in vs when you eat. They can only cook about 20 portions at once so the table next to us got 1 of their 2 and had to wait until next batch was done before they got their second. Def don’t come if you are in a rush.
