The food is excellent and very quickly served. The cafe is small but very busy. There is a fairly good selection of good quality, enjoyable food. The chips are to die for.

Our Hotel Concierge booked us lunch here as we were visiting the Santa Claus Village. The Venue itself is very cosy however that is were the positives end. On arrival, was told it was a buffet lunch only for 24 euro. Whilst disappointed with buffet...only, price was cheap so proceeded to the table. The food options were very limited and poor. If you want to stuff yourself with as much food as possible and quality not important, this place will suit. If not, steer clear.More
We were staying in the Hotel Santa Claus Igloos. We did not want to take a taxi back to Rovaniemi City Center for dinner and we wanted something a little more sophisticated than what was offered at the snack bars in the village. Our Igloo...manager steered us to the Royal Reindeer, within easy walking distance, where we ate for two nights straight. Our first dinner on 12/30 consisted of creamed crab soup, an appetizer platter (assorted fish, pickled goods, assorted meats and cheeses), main course (braised Reindeer with gravy, truffled potatoes, root vegetables), and a delightful dessert platter. Bread was served throughout the meal. It was pricey, but delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We so enjoyed our meal that we made reservations for New Year's Eve! New Year's Eve was an entirely different experience. We were told to arrive at 10 p.m. so that we could hear the local entertainment.....a talented performer with an accordian, who quickly engaged the multi-lingual audience. THE Santa Claus ---all 7' of him---then made a lengthy appearance to the delight of the children in attendance. The meal----a delicious buffet (all you cared to eat) of ethnic dishes----was a real treat. It was so good, in fact, that we had no appetite for dessert. Again, very pricey, but an experience we will not forget, set in what we imagined to be a traditional Artic home of years gone by, complete with fireplace and candles. The staff there is warm and friendly!More
