Amazing place to taste the real Lappish flavours. The "Rovaniemi Market" makes you try every traditional food from elk to bear. The main courses were delicious, with the chance to try the bear roast. The staff was nice and very fast, totally recommended!

We visited in early March having reserved table in advance after reading glowing reviews and keen to sample traditional Lappish food. Waiting around 30 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation, however, that aside, this is a great little place decorated in the traditional...Lappish style, reindeer skins and antlers and a stuffed brown bear. Reindeer and bear feature heavily on the menu, along with Elk and fish. We went for a mixture of everything, although I can't recall the name of this option, it featured in the list of starters, along with additional bear stew and salmon soup. Background music is Sami easy listening. Friendly service. Recommend if you are visiting Rovaniemi this is definitely THE place for authentic Lappish food...just make sure you book a table in advance as drop ins were being turned away at the door.More

We tried 6 different courses and all were amazing, as were the berry juice and berry wine. Good value for money. Peculiar decor but suits the place. Not the feared tourist trap it might have been, as the restaurant is situated next to the hotels...in Rovaniemi.More

We had a great meal here on our last night. It’s tricky, if you’re comparing it to what you’d get for the same price in the UK then it’s very expensive, but bang for buck with Finnish prices and the crappy pound it’s pretty good....The service was great, friendly but not gushing. We had the chefs suprise and matching wine flight with cocktails to start, 225 euros for two. Food was lovely, decent portions and we left feeling nicely full. Had been shocked by the charging for tap water mentioned in other comments but was actually only 1 euro each and in lots of places in Europe you get charged a cover charge so I don’t think it was that unreasonable really - plus you get free bread! All in all a great end to our trip and we’d definitely recommend.More

Great starters and mains, dessert list is not as interesting. Bit expensive side. Decoration and atmosphere is superb, has that touristic Lapland feel.

The place is lovely decorated. A menu full of local specialties, all worth to try. And good. Portions are on the smallish side, prices are on the upper side without any good reason, other good restaurants in Rovaniemi have similar offers without reaching this level...of price. Even tap water is charged for ! Service is ok, no particular attention. Beware, you may have big groups that will not help giving you the feeling of a relaxing fancy dinner. Not sure I would try again, Nili is definitely overrated, on the way to become a tourist trap if it goes too far along that path. Booking is essential.More

Very popular resturant (make sure you book). Full of character. Food was nice but quite pricey for what you get. Tap water is also chargeable - not somehting I have experienced before.

I came for dinner on a recommendation from a shop assistant in Helsinki. It was beautiful food, great service and an opportunity to try something different and unique. Highly recommend, it is popular so make sure you book.

Book online as it’s very popular, however the head waitress explained that often people don’t show up so it’s always worth popping in between the half hour as they will happily fit you in if possible. We ate from the surprise menu with the accompanying...wine flight, absolutely first class. Tried some delicious local wines and every mouthful was sublime. Staff are charming, knowledgeable and work very hard but make time to chat and explain the menu options and decor. Apparently touching the bears claws brings you luck and the tiny white things hanging in the windows are not teeth.More

A traditional Finnish restaurant in city center of Lapland,very near to our hotel:Arctic light hotel. I reserved the table online without prepayment,the waitresses were very polite and fast ,guided about the foods.I tasted the meat of Bear for the first time of my life there,it...was very delicious,they said bear hunting is allowed in limited numbers in a year.The mushroom and also Salmon soups also very delicious.More
