Cafe Hertta, We arrived casually to it and We have been captured by a delicious "apple pie" and "caffè latte". The place it is clean and the personnel warm and gentle. Go to Cafe Hertta and after the breakfast You will ne sweeter;-))

Once upon the time, this tiny place used to be the railways station's smoky bar, full of drunkards. Then it went into oblivion for decades. But now, look and behold, it has got a wonderful new life as a cafe cum few hotel rooms. The...interior is really charming (and a true for those, who remember the old bar). Many reviewers have recorded the staff attitude, and I must agree with the praise. The fare is limited to cakes and pastries and salads, which is really a pity, because if there were just a few main courses or even soup, then this would do for a cosy dinner venue. Wine selection is quite limited, but still a pleasant surprise. Slightly off the city centre, but still within walking distance. Terrace operates in summertime, if it is not raining.More

Very lovely building and outside area right next to the train line (the trains are not loud because they are electric). We had a double espresso, filter coffee (kahvi), a strawberry & lemon mousse cake and 3 small sweets for 11€. Coffee is more expensive...than we are used to but seems normal to be €2-3 here. The ladies who served us were very kind and thankfully spoke some English. When I asked about soya milk or any dairy alternatives the lady told me about vegan items they had and offered us Oatly (oat milk) for the coffee. Everything was delicious and the espresso was really strong!! Great place and friendly people. Lots of locals in and out also. Will definitely be back!! THANK YOU! KIITOS!More

Gluten free mudcake was very delicious. Coffee was tasty, not too strong, just perfect! Staff was very kind and helpful. This was the first time in this Cafe, but if it's possible, I Will return.

we went to kemi station to stow our luggage. with much trouble we found someone who told us that lockers were not working and that we could go to the cafe nearby. so we took our luggage to Cafe Hertta. They graciously kept our luggage...in their strongroom. we paid slightly more than the station lockers cost but were relieved to be free for our onward schedule. They asked us if they should call us a taxi for our destination snowcastle and we said yes please. After making a call.... it was 3 euro again for just making the call. we paid, thanked and left. Returned back, ordered hot delicious chocolate " to go" as the cafe was full and that was it.More

We stayed at the hotel next to Cafe Hertta so it was our breakfast joint. Porridge with berries, freshly baked rolls, cold cuts, vegetables, cottage cheese, eggs, coffee and juice. It was plentiful and gave a healthy start to the day. There are sandwiches, cakes,...speciality coffees and teas and drinks available too.More

Nice athmosphare, friendly stuff and lovely place; good coffees and bakeries and sallads. I go there often, and there is always lot of people. Ihanan tunnelmallinen paikka ja ystävällinen hlökunta. Hyvät kahvit, leipomukset ja salaatit. Väkeä riittää päivästä ja kellonajasta riippumatta.

When doing some research before our holiday on where to eat in Kemi, I came across this delightful cafe. We wanted somewhere to eat dinner on Boxing Day (26 Dec.), so I messaged the cafe on Facebook enquiring re opening hours and meal options. Most...of my correspondence was with Riikka. After some back-and-forth, we booked for dinner - a set menu. They catered for our GF diet and the meal was delicious - salad, soup a dessert. The staff that evening, who only spoke some English, were also delightful. We went back again 2 days later and had lunch and this time, we met Riikka whose English was very good. She was lovely - warm and welcoming. We highly recommend this cafe.More

As we had a 10 hour wait for our train we were able to leave our bags where for a fee. Bags were secured in a locked back room. Walked around town a bit then came back for a hot chocolate. Damn it was a...really good hot chocolate.More

Excellent place to eat and have espresso coffee when you get off the train at Kemi. It is next to the station.

A place with a constant stream of locals entering. Always a good sign. Cosy place with a really helpful girl in the counter. She helped me to order a train ticket, even the place had a steady stream of costumers.
