We spent a couple of nights in beautiful Nyslott Savonlinna and liked this restaurant so much that we came here twice for dinner and once for lunch. The prices are OK for Finland and the quality of the food is very high. Since there aren't...many places in town where you can have a light lunch, this place is definitely a must. Excellent and very friendly waiters.More

Pasta 1/5. Pizza 2/5. Staff, atmosphere and location was nice. Way too expensive for the quality....

Shady table during a hot day, nice salad and glass of wine. Good service. What else should I say, I would eat there again.

Best pizza I have had in a very long time. Authentic Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere right next to the lake. Reasonable prices and a very helpful staff.

We had delicious oven-baked pizzas for lunch and a delicious desert + red wine after the recommendation of the waitress. The wine was so good that we even bought it later for ourselves in the shop! The interior is nice and modern, and we had...a lovely time and got to enjoy our left-over pizzas later that evening (takeaway possible here). Tasty coffee with refils, too!More

Five star food, but (at most) two star service. The pizzas baked in a genuine pizza oven were fantastic, quite easily in the top 3 in Finland. The crust was perfect and the ingredients impeccable: the mozzarella, the salami, the parma ham, the basil all...were tasty and fresh. The dough was baked to a pleasant crust at the middle too, and thin enough there to melt away in the mouth. This was true perfection. The beer selection too was good with bottled varieties from local breweries and international known brands (incl. Peroni). The wine selection also looked decent. Unfortunately the service was below all expectations: just getting the menus after being seated took time, most of the time the waitress was nowhere to be seen during dining, not once were we asked if everything was ok or if we wanted something else (we did), and in the end I had to chase down the waitress to get the bill. And after paying, when I got the itemized bill, I noticed the bill included 30 euros worth of wine we didn’t have. For the refund I now have to wait and see if the difference appears in my account. If it doesn’t I have to call the restaurant and maybe my bank, and that’s just more hassle I didn’t want. A real shame. Really great food, but a crummy after taste.More

Perlina di Castello is located nearby Savonlinna market area. It's Italian restaurant, but they are offering tasty lunch which isn't Italian food. Really good value for money.

Entering the restaurant we were told most tables are reserved in one hour and half on and we need to leave then. No problem, we only wanted lunch so in we walk and are directed to a table not cleaned yet. The waitress removes dirty...fork and plate but doesn’t touch the unused glass and knife plus napkin that was under the used fork at the table. We ordered vegetable risotto suitable for coeliacs - made sure we asked its suitability when placing the order -and regular tomato&mozzarella pizza. In a while the waitress brought us normal bread; not proposing gluten—free bread for the coeliac or apologizing them not having any. The food came to the table after a long enough wait; understandable as the opera festival was on but it felt a bit inappropriate only one of us having the bread to snack. To give very honest review the risotto was like bland, unseasoned rice-pudding (Finnish riisipuuro; a total embarrasment) with 2 pieces of watery asparagus plants crossed over it, a few the tiniest of size pickled chanterelle mushrooms and a small handful of soggy vegetable crisps. The pizza was loaded with much too much cheese and only half way cooked despite the proper pizza oven they had hot and fully visible in the middle of the open kitchen, and also strongly highlighted in their advertising. The feedback given at the end they still wanted to charge in full for the both meals. It was the first and last time walking in their door. One would expect much better experience from the S-group restaurant.More
