Wonderful location and the food is amazing. This road side cafe serves as if it’s a top city restaurant without the prices. The Vendace (small fried fish) is fabulous and it’s no wonder the has a constant flow patrons.

Nestled in the heart of lakeland Finland this little cafe is more than a cafe. It offers a menu with something for everyone. We had lunch twice here, both time local fish dishes and it was all delicious, made of local produce and served with a glorious view of lake Saimaa. Keep an eye for this cafe and do stop, you will not regret it!

Very nice place with nice views to lake.
Food was good and service was good.
Price to food quality was ok but price of water was not good because it was not even bottled.
Recommned to eat Vendaces.

Lovely location in a worn out tiny shack with mediocre terrace over the lake. Tables were pretty with fresh flowers. Service was terrible and very slow (1,5 hours) for e.g. basic fish soup. Would have helped if personnell would have warned in advance about extremely long wait. Rude interaction and excuses from the waiters when we said we would have appreciated honesty. Kids were tired and starving. In situations like these a free desert, a reduction of the price or a sincere apology (instead of rude defense) would have made it a bit better.

Nice view but overpriced food. There are clearly 2 level of customers: those who know Pasi (the owner) and those who do not. The former get good service and desent size servings. The latter get one small spoonful sauce with fish and leftovers of tiramisu. Not recommended if you are a new customer.

Located by the lake with lovely views. Friendly service and good food. However it took very long to get the food. Seems like their kitchen capabilities and equipment does not match the size of the restaurant. This place has potential if the kitchen would work faster. Book time for waiting if you eat here.

Ate fried vendance and they were really crispy!
It was hot day 28°C but ok in the shade.
We had our Westie with s and it was no problem to get n with him.

Simply horrible experience. Huge waiting time, very bad food, highly overprised, rude service. Menu has nothing to do with the dishes, pure cheating. Location is nice but the restaurant could not be worse. Please stay away from this disaster.

Food was excellent and it was made from local fresh ingredients. We enjoyed fish and chicken.
Service was friendly and we felt welcomed right away.

The location is great, but: food is no value for money. Staff is not very good at what they do - poor and unfriendly service. Ignorance of Covid recommendations.

We got a recommendation for this place with high hopes and expectations. Visited this nicely located cafe 18th of July 2021. The middle aged lady to take care of the clients did not have any customer frienly behavior - very arrogant attitude indeed. Please experience. Secondly, food was okeish and somewhat overpriced. Young gyus (summer workers?) from the kitchen were smoking in the front door. So, like in Turkey...
The beef hasn't got enough heat...it was really "pale".
Finally, when we left the restaurant - this before mentioned lady took two coffees in the bill we did not drink. And some other errors too. So, I quicly calculated that if they invoice 10 eur more "extra" - and if every day they do this for multiple clients...so it easily could mean hundreds of euros...

An experience which was a bit disappointing. While the location is nice by a lake the noise from traffic passing by spoils a lot. Pricing was also on the higher side while the food was good but not excellent.

The service was really horrible. The waiters were really rude and ruined the atomsphere. The food was ok but not really worth the price.
