Great value for money and tasty! We went for a three course lunch at a cost of under €12 (half price for children under 7). Starter of cauliflower and cheese soup, main of chicken with rice and vegetable (lots of salad options also), and desert...of Finnish traditional kiisseli, which is a mixed berry cold soup. All the food was delicious! There is also water and a non alcoholic Finnish beer (kotikalja) along with coffee for after! Well worth every penny!!!More

First visit though had visited the small station before without noticing any worthy restaurant there. Great food but comes with a price during their German weeks. Asked to change the reserved table which was just by the child door to the platform. Had to turn...my dirty beer glass. Themed interior not very attractive and missing a front door to separate it from the waiting lounge with drunken passengers. Good better than expected but interior less than what a high class restaurant should look. Still an eatery for busy passengersMore

This time we quickly ate only coffee and stuffed bagels. Bagel was a little old. Customer service continues to be polite and good. The location of the restaurant is good next to the travel center.

This restaurant has continued the tradition of the Railwaystation restaurant in the building since the 19th century with a versatile menu. Since the opening of Vaiha- restaurant a few years ago, the travellers and also local people have filled the seats especially at lunchtime. Good...food and tradional notalgic enviroment takes you back to the history when travelling by train was a new experience.More

The restaurant at the Old Railway Station offers good home-cooked food - Christmas is also a Christmas lunch. Because of the popularity, it is a little busy. Close to an hour or two parking spaces with a parking disc.

I was told in before hand that this railway station restaurant Vaiha is good. It is always pleasent when a restaurant surpasses your expectations. Vaiha did just that. The Lunch buffet consisted of pike-perch fish seljanka, pork in beautiful sauce with mashed potatoes, very tasty...salad with very fresh tomatos and juicy root vegetables slowly cooked in owen. Everything is made of local area raw materials. And it all tasted so good. The place is tidy and service is good+. Old wooden railwaybuilding offers nice casual atmosphere. Price for lunch buffet was 10€. Recommendable.More

Sunday brunch was fresh with great variety of local foods including fresh salmon and strawberries for example. Cucumber soup was delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Nice atmospheric location in an old railway station building.

To this date, I've been a fan of Vilee while staying at Mikkeli, but... Vaiha really was something great! Stationed at the train station of Mikkeli, there is good lunch (I've heard) and we went here for dinner. Menu quite small, but everything we tasted...was great at very affordable price. Had a good beer with the main course, topped off with delicious dessert - around 25e for main, dessert & special beer of this quality is a bargain, thumbs up big time!More

A friend of mine gave us a gift token for us to visit in Railway station restaurant Vaiha. We checked the menu before our visit from Internet and after that we decided to visit precisely at Friday. The place is located at the Mikkeli railway...station. The building is an old station made of wood. There are several parking places near Vaiha but there are also lots of people at lunchtime from 10.30 am. to 14.30 pm. There were lots of people in the restaurant. We had to wait for a moment and have a look if there were any room for us. After all we managed to have seats. We paid at the bar and because we had the gift token the waitress bid us welcome and recommended us to take food. We felt ourselves warmly welcome even if the place was crowded. The were scalloped potatoes and meatballs for lunch and some soup. I ate scalloped potatoes and meatballs. My wife also tasted soup. The food was delicious. Only the meatballs were a little bit dry but because the sauce were so good that was only a minor defect. There were a couple of salads. I normally do not eat sauerkraut salad but this time I tasted it and this salad was good. There were brownies for dessert and those were overly sweet for my taste. Before our leave they brought some apple pie on the coffee table. We did not taste apple pie and now we feel a bit disappointed. Even if the place was crowded and it was a busy time one of the employees manage to answer my question who the owner was. Regardless the haste all the places were clean and the tables were wiped quickly and in general everything was working professionally. We are able to recommend this place for its good quality-price ratio. This is a goold place to have lunch at lunchtime for example for couples. Families with small children might want to visit here at the beginning of the lunchtime or at the end of it. The place can be a little restless with small children at lunchtime. There is a touch of an old-fashioned feeling in the milieu because the building is old. The decoration contains couple of details. For example, there are an old sign which is used for a guide for not to enter staff room and there are company logo printed in the curtains.More
