I have been to the Kuopion Korttelimuseo and needed a beer after a long day, so I strolled around at Kauppakatu and found a bar with a suitable name “Malja”, which mean “Toast” in English. I went in and bought a beer and sat at the terrace and saw people passing by. Friendly staff.

There is a Happy Hour (= Hilipeet Tunnit) every day until 20:00. Beer (50 cl), cider (33 cl) and long drink (33 cl) are all only 3,90 euros.
There is a pleasant terrace with cathedral views. The interior is a little bit on the dark side.

This bar has it all: excellent beer and whisky selection, nice atmosphere and attentive personnel. What else could you ask for a bar?
Beer selection varies from time to time to keep things interesting so this place always offers something new worth trying. And If you want to stick with your alltime favourite brew or dram you will most likely find that too.

This place has many local beers. If you want you can taste many different kind of beers cause they serve then also in 25 cl classes. Casual place with good atmosphere.

This is a place for a beer-lover. There is a good selection of beers and also friendly staff. The prices weren't much higher than on the average in Finland. It's possible to get also some of the most common drinks, in addition to the selection of beers.

Good selection of beers and one of the few crowded beer gardens in Kuopio, with nice staff albeit a little worn down interiors.
I had The Marysville Misfit from danish Amager Bryghus and it was excellent. If you're a beer aficionado, I highly recommend it. Apparently it's no longer available for import so get it while it lasts.

A nice, quite small and cozy pub close to Kuopio city center. 11 taps. Okay service. Not really a cheap place. No food. The best place in Kuopio to have some craft beers. Big patio in front of the bar.

If you are a friend of beer tasting, Malja is your place in Kuopio. Quite wide selection of beers and there are also some craft beers available.

Plenty of beer here! They alternate their list and the breweries where they order from time to time so you'll find something new every visit.
Atmosphere in the bar is cozy and living-room-like, staff knows what they do!

One of Kuopio's favorite hang out spots for young people. Have many beers on tap, both local and foreign, with acceptable (Finnish) prices. Staff is very polite and friendly, and atmosphere in general is very welcoming. Recommended for a chill night out in town, or for a place to gather out before your main plans.

Many local well-educated people meet in this beer bar. Atmosphere is warm and relaxed. This is great place to take a cold glass of beer with friends.
