I have been in the Kreeta restaurant several times, I think food there is really good, although options are limited and there have been no new additions for years. But what they offer is really mastered. The owner is a great guy, very friendly etc.,...and when he is around things seem to work a bit better there. But the waiting staff... it's a whole different story. They don't smile, never check up on you to ask if all is OK or if you need anything. But, what I hate the most, is that EVERY SINGLE TIME they fail to clear the table! They do not take away the dirty dishes from a table after a meal so you just sit there over the empty plates. They NEVER come to ask if you wish a dessert, and to pay the bill you better go to the counter and pay it there. Waiters are often occupied talking to each other so it takes time before they even notice you are calling them to the table. There is one middle aged perky blond lady (owners wife) who does a better job, but even she doesn't take care of you anymore after your main course arrives. This usually sooner or later annoys me badly. I just want to have a nice dinner/lunch and once I finish my meal and put my cutlery in a "I'm finished position" I expect it to be removed from the table, and then I can continue with my coffee, dessert, drink etc. Is it really too much to ask? Overall, it is a moderately good experience but with better waiting service I would call it a great one!More

I had a lunch from the lunch menu. The food (lamb salad) was ok but nothing special, kinda watery for my taste. The mistake I did was to order some extra halloumi cheese to go with the salad.The price for this 'small extra' was 7.9...eur, which is a ridiculous price for two small pieces of cheese. So when the salad being 12.9 eur, and total bill being more than 20 eur, I would recommend to find better value options for your lunch at Kuopio.More

Had to test this small cretan restaurant in Kuopio. Service quick and friendly. Food was really good, tasty and it was a big portion. I had chicken and pork souvlaki and a side salad. Sooo nice. The wine was Ok.

We were a group of seven on a Sunday evening. (Most restaurants in Finland are closed on Sundays.) The interior is in Greek style, but not kitchy. The menu is quite simple, but displays the essential greek classics. We took the 14 course large menu...with starters, main courses and dessert for everybody. Some retsina, greek red wine, and ice cold Ouzo for aperitifs. The restaurant made a very good greek dinner from Finnish ingredients. The pittas were fresh, tsatsiki really good, and the calamari were near perfect, crispy and nice. Stifado and souvlaki were moist and lemony and crisp and strong. The potatoes could have been fried darker in my taste. The service was swift, maybe too fast at times for a meal this big. Waiters friendly and humorous. A good meal in a friendly atmosphere.More

i tried the rice with salmon. the taste was good, though the rice was a little bit salty for me. but i think it was quite expensive, i can get other food with lower price in Kuopio.

Ordered takeout for dinner and it was a delicious meal. We ordered the dinner before walking into the city centre to get wine from Alko and picked it up on our way back. Food was piping hot and plentiful. I had the vegetarian platter of...dolmadas, tzatziki, eggplant dip and Greek salad. My husband had the souvlaki (chicken and pork). The lemon potatoes, with his meal were to die for and we should have ordered extra! My only wish would have been for more dolmades and some potatoes, perhaps with less dip. Don't get me wrong, it was all delicious but I have a soft spot for potatoes and dolmades and these were both really good! Great and friendly service and the dining room looked really pleasant. Next time, we will eat in.More

I took Kleftiko with Tsatsiki. Kleftiko was really delicious. I love lamb and it was good choice. If you are not a friend of lamb but you want to try, you have to take this. Nice, friendly, smiling staff (young woman)

Reasonably authentic cuisine, nice decor, good service. Not very expensive. Lunch around 13€. Had a strange Deja-vu experience as there is a very similar restaurant in Oulu also.

Restaurant Kreeta offers a taste from the Greek. Wife enjoyed the Koto salata and there is enough to eat and taste is good. Sometimes I eat the same in lunchtime. This time I ate a portion of lamb and it was made very well and...tasty. There is so much meat to eat. Price for food is okay when you get it with 20 euro or under and you feel your self full.More

This middle- priced Greek restaurant is very welcoming and the food is plentiful and not expensive. The staff were very friendly and happy to make recommendations.

we was there with my friends from Kavala Greece and into the restaurant nobody are Greek but from Albania the food are not original and nothigh t do with Greek food.
