Brilliant place to eat and spend time with family

We enjoyed our food and stay at Boka. Service was a top notch, food was brilliant- very tasty, good portions and fresh. We went there with small kids, Boka offers a menu for the little once which looked and tasted delicious. Our overall experience 5/5. Place highly recommend :) thank you Boka for making us feel special!

Enjoyed yesterday a lovely dinner here, a 5 star experience! Very attentive service, tasty and well presented food with a twist, cozy small restaurant and the staff couldn't do more for you. A gem in Kuopio!

Great food for whole family

Place was packed full on hot summer day evening and personnel was really busy. Still they were very polite, nice and did their job with speed. Atmosphere was trendy and cozy, but not peaceful. We liked it, but if you are looking for quiet place, this might not be it. But then the most important thing - Balkanese food tasted awesome. We ate halloumi fries, "shephard's steak", halloumi salad and cevapcici for our kid. Everyone liked a lot and we are definitely come back again, when we visit Kuopio.

Food was good, but nothing special. Price was too high for Kuopio. Service was too quick, cause you did not finish the start drink the food brought to table. I got feeling that waitress was not professuonal cause we practically kicked out of restaurant after bill.

Not offered extra bread- Ridiculous

The lunch menu was average, but I decided to try it anyway since the reviews were exceptional, and it was rated the number one restaurant for lunches in Kuopio. To my surprise, it turned out to be anything but a conventional Finnish lunch spot. I'm giving it 2 stars because the location is good, and the taste was decent. Here’s what we ordered: I ordered the chicken souvlaki with potato wedges, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce for 13.90€. The dish included two thin wooden skewers with lean chicken and a cherry tomato on each, one small pita bread, a tablespoon of mixed salad, and a tablespoon of sauce. My husband ordered the slow-cooked young lamb, which came with a generous portion of meat, a good amount of salad, and two pita breads for 15.90€. Seeing my husband's plate immediately put me off. I asked for extra sauce, only to be told it would cost an additional 4€ for another tablespoon of dip, so I declined. When I gave feedback, the owner was polite but defensive. I asked why my dish came with just two skewers of chicken and one pita bread, and he had the audacity to defend it by saying the lamb dish was 2€ more, hence the extra salad, meat, and bread. I found this ridiculous—how does 2€ more get so much extra, yet my plate comes with so little, and an extra dip costs 4€? He claimed that their ingredients are expensive, which I don’t care about; at least they could provide a generous amount of bread, dip, and salad. He then mentioned that their à la carte menu costs 25€ and includes more, but that didn’t address my concern at all. He wasn’t even apologetic, didn’t thank me for the feedback, and didn’t offer any extra bread. Seriously? We’re just talking about an extra piece of bread! I don’t eat red meat, and the portion size of my dish was just a scam. Moreover, there was no separate lunch table which lunch menus usually have in restaurants in Finland. To add to this, I had called ahead to ask if they had vegetarian moussaka, which also cost 15.90€. When I asked about the protein substitute, I was told there wasn't one—just eggplants and bell peppers. So, for 15.90€, I would have gotten nothing but vegetables. Maybe I would’ve received an extra piece of bread with that! #NotABalancedDiet #PortionSizeNotJustified #TotalWasteOfMoney #TotalScam # SpeakUp if you don't like it # Don't just give stars

Rather good food- ignorant service

The service were ignorant and unpolited. The food was very good. Nobody told anything of the lunch. I tried to find wc and walked though the restaurant, nobody helped me. Even there were at least four people working. Not hot water for tea even when I asked the answer was that we don’t have hot water.

Just pure excellent!!

Excellent service which was just perfectly timed, not too slow - not too quick. Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Kids welcome and well taken care of! And the food!!! OMG so delicious. 5/5, excellent, interesting, new flavours with a twist. But remember to go only with an empty stomach :)

Great food and smooth service. Especially I like Boka’s sausages. I am 50% of my time in KUOPIO due business, Anoka is my new favorite, this is 3rd time in short time… 5/5
