Best pies

If you pass Kuopio, even for a few hours you should take a pie from there for an unaltered and traditional taste. You must know that is not something fancy but is really good. Tried apple, raspberry, beef and karelian (rice) pie, all super tasty.

What a bakery! This is a must

What a bakery! This is a must place every time when visiting Kuopio. Try Kalakukko, rice pies and meat pies. Also good and delicious donuts for desert. Best and traditional Finnish food.

Best karelian pies

On a market square of Kuopio, Hanna Partanen has a cubicle. I'm sure they have the best Karelian pies (karjalanpiirakka) I have ever tasted! Very traditional Finnish dish, and they know how to do it.

Delicious Meat & Rice Pasties

Hanna Partanen never fails to impress and still makes the most delious pasties in town ... in Finland. This is the true ’Home’ of meat (lihapiirakka) and rice pasties (riisipiirakka). You should also try the ’Kalakukko’ which is the local speciality, sweet water fish baked...in rye crust. The Bakery is located on Kasarminkatu in the city center of Kuopio.More
