The place is fab, it was a warm day and we ate on the terrace, looking at the beautiful lake. Dogs were allowed to be with us on the terrace, which is a bonus. Waitresses were friendly and service quick. The food was a bit...of a disappointment, especially considering everything else was nice and beautiful. I ordered fish (carp) with mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. And that is exactly what I got. I mean, a piece of fried fish, some mash, and a few carrot sticks. It was ok but very basic, I’d cook this any day at home in half an hour. When you come to eat out (and pay 26€ for the dish), you expect at least something special, a Wow-factor. That was unfortunately missing, greetings to the menu planners and kitchen. I’d come again if the food was made with a bit more effort! :)More

On a work related trip to City of Iisalmi I was endorsed by my work collages that Olutmestari is the one and only place for good food and cold bear. As it's the Corona restrictions, the restaurant was guiding all guests to their seats and...recommended to check their menu from their homepage. OK, I'll accept this. I took the Harbour Burger (Satama hampurilainen), but it was bit of a disappointment. The bun was like a ready made you by from any shop, the beef was medium + OK, but lacking salt, mayo was tasty and onions inside too. Fries were tasteless (cooked for too short time and no salt) and the menu was crowned by semi-tasteless Sandels beer. So, no surprise - just "perusmättöä"More

Very nicelocation by the harbour. A view over the lake. An oldhashioned wooden historical building. A very nice menu with both traditional fishdishes and more modern ones. The deserts were not much to brag about. Friendly but slow and a bit of a amateurlike staff.

We visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening. Everything else was perfect except the long wait for food. The surroundings are perfect by the lake and our waiter was very nice, but it took more than one hour for us to get our dishes, and...it wasn’t even a busy time. Many tables were free. Our food was nice when it finally arrived, so we were happy!More

Menu is good. There is fish, meat and vege-dishes. You can take the salads smaller or bigger sizes. It is open from first of May until autumn. The terrace is magnificent. Blue lake, boats and green pari nearby.

This nice summer-season restaurant is conveniently located by a lake with great views and seatings by the water. The local beer brewery is just 100 meters away. ( You do not get tastings from there!) What made us the best effect was the fluent, easy-going...service ( Thank you Elisa! ) which made the evening memorable. Food was really tasty - snails as a starter - they were perfectly prepared with blue cheese topping, the white fish with tasty mashed potato and vegetables - this is what I call rock'n roll. It does not need to be a tasting menu if the food is tasty itself. Also we saw the world's smallest restaurant - really small - but nice story. We were really happy when we were walking to the hotel. People make it. In a way or two.More

Lovely old wooden house with a terrace, where you can enjoy the lake view, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere. Ordered the traditional Eastern Finnish delicatessen, fresh water fish called vendace - in Finnish "muikku" (16,90 €). The small rye flour breaded fish are fried crispy...in butter and served with mashed potato. So-o-o good. Compliments to the kitchen. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.More

We went there for lunch. It was a warm day in July, we sat outside. It was very beautiful with the lake and the boats in front. The service was with a smile and helpful. The drinks were cold as they should be, the salds...very tasty and the hamburgers perfect. On a sunny day, it is strongly recommended.More

Went there because it was a 1 minute walk from our hotel. The staff we were freindly. Very engaging and happy to chat. We learnt more about what was to see in Iisalmi from them than the tourist info centre. The menu for us was...offered enougg choiced. That which we ordered was very good and not small in portion. The building was originally a storage wharehouse from early last century. Its rustic interior was updated while still maintaining a sense of the old. We liked it and would go there again if the oportunity arose agsin.More

A cozy and warm haven in the freezing finnish spring. Good food and especially warm and personal service from the owners. Also got to visit the smallest restaurant in the world, Kuappi. Worth a visit, especially when it is warm.
