Not to brag but I would consider our family to be experts in "fika" which is the Swedish tradition of stopping for coffee/hot choc/tea and a sandwich or pastry. Pastries and cakes in Sweden are better than I have had anywhere else. Its a little known fact. And Guntherska's does an excellent job with lunch, buns, pastries, cakes, ice cream... More

You can smell the wonderful aromas of Swedish baked goods as you approach. The place is always crowded. If you squint just a bit it is easy to imagine that you have stepped into a shop in the 1940s, or maybe the 1880s, who knows. Not much to choose from other than baked goods though.

Great food in one of Uppsala's oldest cafés. The elegant environment with its high ceilings and beautiful interior create a regal atmosphere. A generous variety of pastry and sweet delight but also sandwiches, salads and soups. I not surprised is one the 3 best places in Uppsala, I will be back for sure on my next visit.

At the moment the best coffee shop in Uppsala with a variety of buns, cakes, sandwiches etc. to chose from. The venue is nice with old fashioned features, although not that cosy.

Great cinnamon and cardamom buns! Very good sour-dough bread and well made food. During the summer their ice-cream are very good too! Nice atmosphere but normally quite crowded.

Short menu on counter as you go in , order and you get a 'buzzer' that tells you when its ready . quirky old fashioned decor but it has a great feel about it and was busy when we visited . Great hot food and coffee

During our stay in Uppsala we had lunch here and also enjoyed a fika in the afternoon. For lunch we were sitting on the terrace at the waterfront and we had a salad and a panini. The panini was good and the salad was with both a big piece salmon and goat cheese which was a little to heavy for... More

Lovely café with a real café feeling. Some really nice seats and some not so comfy tables. We were lucky and got a nice table with the comfortable armchchairs. I tried to reserve a table in advance since we were 7 + a baby. But they don't take any reservations. As it was Saturday midday it was full to the... More

I especially enjoyed the shrimp salad or shrimp sandwiches. Also their freshly baked bread, cakes and buns are delicious.
