We were lucky to get an outside table, watching people, enjoying a coffee and cinnamon bun. My waiter was very friendly, warm lovely human.

You can't come to Stockholm without stopping here for a white hot chocolate. Always delicious! Friendly and welcoming place...worth any wait! (And they have gluten free cake - added bonus!)

I have lived in Stockholm now for almost 5 months as a student and Chokladkoppen has become a cafe that I regularly visit and take my visitors to as well. It is an awesome place to Fika, and is just very quaint, and inviting. The staff is great! You can't go wrong with any pastries. The Princess Cake is great... More

We visited Chokladkoppen at the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. We were lucky to have had beautiful weather, so sat outside - although blankets were provided. A great location in a square in the old town by the Nobel museum, perfect for people watching. The coffees were large and delicious and the white hot chocolate was... More

Popped into this landmark to enjoy seasonal cider and a very delicious and rich piece of chocolate cake. The service was quick and efficient, although they were very busy. It was quite cold, so everyone was inside, and the place is not that large. Enjoyed the atmosphere and treats. This is a definite pit-stop to work into a day trip... More

Very small and cosy interior and hence can get a little crowded. They also have outdoor seats. Hot chocolate is highly recommended. Raspberry pie is a good choice for those who prefer something refreshing. There is a variety of lunch options and desserts on the menu. Will totally come back for more hot chocolate and probably chocolate cakes next.

We stumbled across this little place when walking around Gamla Stan and we were so glad we did! It was too cold to sit outside so we squeezed in on a small table inside. It's very small with tiny chairs to sit on but they weren't a big problem... We had two hot chocolates which were amazing, fair price and... More

We stopped off at this beautiful square during a sunny but rather chilly Easter break. The seating area outside was full of those wanting a hot drink with some sunshine but given the temperature we were more than happy to sit inside and found a table straight away. Staff are fantastic if you want any variations on your coffee (i.e.... More

The perfect place to escape from the chilly streets of Gamla Stan. Chokladkoppen is a very small and intimate, yet relaxed, coffee shop with the most gorgeous coffee cups I've ever seen. I sat on a rustic bench seat against the wall as I devoured a cinnamon roll and slurped a hot coffee. Both were absolutely delicious. There were a... More

Never before have I had the chance to try the 'white hot chocolate' and I assure anyone reading this, you are in for a treat if you come by Chokladkoppen and give it a try. One of the best lunches I have ever had in Stockholm was had here, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. Especially the white... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
