Dovas is knower for budget drinks. It’s one of the best calls for cheap drink at the city. The staff is nice and prepared to get your order. When is full could be hard to find a table.
We heard that it is the cheapest beer place in Stockholm that’s why we ended up there. It was okay. Small pub with two level seating. The quality of beer was fine. Very clean toilets
It's a bit of dive bar, but the regulars who are there for the 35 kr beer have company from students in groups, a really flamboyant gay couple and other couples and groups. There are different seating areas, so if you didn't want to hang...out with the drunks near the bar (like I did), go sit in the upper seating area. The staff are also quite an education: Kurdish, Azeris and other ethnicities. If you're on your own and get tired of talking to the regulars, as I did, you can learn a thing or two by talking to the staff. I did not eat the food, I just drank the 35 kr beer.More
Restaurant/Pub Dovas does not assume any up-market nonsens position. They thrive however on the fact that they only charge SEK 30 for a pint. At night this establishment attract a younger audience (mostly students) which also makes Dovas attracrive for anyone who seeks someone.
It was nice to be back. welcommed warmly with friendly staff. Very cozy and warm atmosphere as always. Similar customers as usual. Nice to be back and spend some nice time. Reasonable priced beer.
Seem to be really local bar for local people from nearby. people knew each other and the bar staff ! friendly, familylike feeling. very reasonable priced. feeled nice to look around and hear the discussions, chearings.
Dovas, or "Fovas", as the passionated visitors say, is without a doubt the best pub in this area of Stockholm. Cheap, a wide selection of beer, clean, excellent staff and a cozy atmosphere! Not the same standards as Dovas at Hornsgatan or "Chovas", but still...a real gem!More
A Stockholm classic. A must in every aspect. Beer is cold. Food is decent. Real people with passion for having a good time.
At Dovas you get served by turkish guys, they don't laugh easily, but after some visits the ice starts breaking. I have not tasted the food there, and don't expect 1st class culinary experience. But you can get traditionnal swedish simple food, which is not...easy to find any more in Stockholm. Delicious? No, but intresting, and like for the beers, that is cheap.More
Fridhemsplan, the area around Dovas, is home of many "sunkhak" (roughly translated 'trashpubs'). Sunkhak is a place where you get beer very cheap, usually under 30 sek. If you're on a very tight budget, this area is great for bar hopping as some of these...places close as late as 3 AM. Dovas is the most classic sunkhak. You don't go here for good food, nice furniture or friendly staff (they're not unfriendly though). Stockholm can be very expensive and especially when you go out for drinks. At Dovas you get a 50cl beer for 30 sek (~3 euro). Great place for starting the night and get a bit tipsy before moving on to the more expensive places. There's an interesting mix of young people and older regulars. If you're on a REALLY tight budget, Nivå22 is located near Dovas, where the beer's even cheaper (25 sek/2.5 euro for 50 cl bottle).More
i am English working in stockholm this pub is just like an English pub friendly staff and locals and best of all cheap beer 30 sk a bottle compared to 60 to 70 sk in most other bars
The moment you walk in, a strong smell of alcohol breath hits you immediately, it stinks! The personnel speaks no English and has a problem understanding Swedish. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants all over the place, all much better than Dovas, I strongly...recommend to stay away from that place!More
