I ate dinner at this restaurant on my short Stockholm trip. Initially service was slow (I was ignored by several waitresses before finally being seated), but when I finally got seated, it improved. I had the spare ribs special which included a stack of spare ribs with a side of small potatoes. It was quite filling and I enjoyed the... More

We were very pleased with this restaurant! It's located in a beautiful square in the old city, surrounded by charming buildings. We had the pleasure to listen to live music while eating performed by a random dude in the square. The food was good and plentiful and the staff jolly and friendly.

Overlooking the square with Svenska Akademien in Gamla Stan (Old Town), this restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating. Even though it's located in a super touristy convenient area in the square, the restaurant proves itself with delicious food. There's traditional Swedish cuisine like meatballs and pork belly. Highly, highly recommend the pork belly with apples! The salmon is also delicious... More

We had dinner on a mild Sunday summers evening. The outside of the restaurant was fully occupied--we waited only a few minutes until a table was vacated and were then seated. The senior waitress on duty was highly efficient-- she cleared and reset tables very quickly and had her staff well organised. The table where we sat was a bit... More

My family and I are here on our first night in Stockholm. We were her lagged after nearly 24 hours flying and wanted an early dinner that was delicious and a good glass of wine. Ignoring recommendations by our apartment, we chose this restaurant that faces the world famous Nobel Prize museum, conscious that it could be a "tourist trap"... More

I don't recognise the most recent few reviews. I had 2 meals at this restaurant last week. The first was early one evening and there were few people there, several seemed like locals. I had only 1 course, herrings, which was, very nice and the service was efficient. The second meal was on Saturday mid-evening. There were a lot of diners,... More

I went and had an early dinner here with my wife, which meant the restaurant was almost empty. However, our waiter was kicking up a racket it felt like we were in the middle of dinner rush. Not only was the food substandard, my fish was served so raw it could probably have been resuscitated if I had given it... More

Restaurant is located n the heart of Stockholm old town with great view to Storget. We decided to eat here lunch. Restaurant was almost empty in lunch which was strange . Service was little bit clumsy but friendly. I choose smoked salmon with lentils and vegetables . My daughter took pasta bolognese. Fish was not fresh at all. I think... More

We had a reservation for our group long in advance but still not a single dish on the menu (2 starters, 4 mains) were complete. 1 dish not available though the restaurant was empty, and others were missing key components. Overcooked steak (asked for raw, got it medium well), luke warm red wine and terrible service - we did not... More

We reserved for a party of 20 for the dinner. Had to wait in line outside in the cold for coatroom. After being seated we did not have a waitor or any drinks for over half an hour! Very small buffet for 60 persons; extreme long waiting row for the buffet. Only after an hour after being seated and having... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
