You pay the extra because this is right in the heart of the old town. The food, to be fair, was pretty good. Great fish soup and a decent steak. The wine prices are ridiculous - £12 a glass for the cheap stuff. The beer...More

We had lunch here as a celebration for finishing a 4 week camping trip around Scandinavia and found the food to be excellent, the location to be great and the service good but the prices a little on the high side. I understand that Scandinavia has...More

We were just passing by looking for a bite to eat after a long traveling day and was greeted so warmly by the manager. We were looked after better than any place visited previously . They made us want to return again just for the...More

In picking this restaurant, my excuse is I had no service on my phone and was hungry and drawn in by the location, decoration and the fact that they had a rack of lamb on the menu (which I am a sucker for). First I...More

We were on holiday in Stockholm with 2 teenagers and ended up in JT. My mistake was to not have read the trip adviser review before going there. I can confirm that it is quite a tourist trap. Prices are on the high side for...More

I've have had better microwave lunch from the grocery. Slow service, high priced dishes and small portions a combo that doesn't work for me. Good location does't save the overall experience.

Like most Stockholmers I never dine in Gamla stan (the old town) more than maximum once a year as almost all restaurants are overpriced tourist traps. Made an exception yesterday and went to Restaurant JT by Järntorget square. Don't be fooled by the posh interior...More

We saw that they served pizza, amongst other dishes. We sat down inside, but realized that we wanted to sit outside. Unfortunately, the vaitor told us that we couldn't sit outside if we were to order pizza! So we stayed inside. Our Coca Cola was...More

This was our last evening in Stockholm, so we thought we would treat ourselves to a meal 'on the terrace' outside in the old part of town. The prices looked fairly reasonable on the board outside, and the waiter was very jovial. The waiter offered...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

JT is a classic restaurant situated on Järntorget in Stockholm?s Gamla Stan district. The dining room, featuring a glass roof dating back to 1898, has a very end of nineteenth century atmosphere. The menu includes a wide variety of fish and meat dishes as well as traditional Swedish home cooking. The wine list is extensive with a worldwide selection. The dessert menu offers classic dishes with a twist, for example Crème Brulée served with espresso ice cream and violet pannacotta with preserved pear and liquorice ice cream. Summertime you can eat outside.
