This was recommended as one of the 5 top places to eat in Stockholm by the Rough Guide. I don't think so. Admittedly we arrived at 14:30 and Swedes famously eat early, so maybe all the good stuff had gone. Very expensive for 2 small sandwiches, 2 beers and a slice of flan. Can't see what all the fuss is... More

Self service, but really good pastries and main courses. The garden is very pleasant, when the sun shines. Really nice place to lunch !

We visited Bla Porten after a wonderful visit to the Vasa Museum - it is ideally situated near several museums and attractions. From the outside you have no idea of the beautiful courtyard garden setting that awaits you. It was very busy when we went but we easily got a table outside. It is a self-service restaurant and you order... More

We stopped here for lunch after visiting Skagen. There is a menu or a buffet offering of sandwiches and cakes. We chose the latter. The sandwiches were basically uninspiring and consisted of a lettuce leaf with a bit of cheese or salami in a bun or croissant. The cakes were a bit better. The outside court yard is a pleasant... The food on offer all looks very appetising, and the local specialities are present. We both had the meatballs and were not disappointed. The gardens are well kept and lovely to sit in. I can imagine on days with poor weather then seating could be an issue though.

We would not have found this place ourselves. From outside it does not look like a cafeteria. Very good local food, served fast, nice ingredients and not overpriced. Highly recommended if you are suddenly hungry in the area of Nordiska Museet!

After visiting few museums this restaurant is a good place to relax and get back energy! It is somehow self-service with various foods on offer. Prices are reasonable and the setting is nice so you can relax and enjoy your food even in the rain!

6 Americans for lunch after visiting the Vasa Museum. We had the swedish meatballs and poached salmon. Bill came out to about $20/person. Huge portions, presented nicely, and served quickly! Tasted delicious! Great for tourists like us who were not wanting to waste too much time while on excursion from a cruise ship.

It was great to happen upon here on our walk back from Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde. It was a gorgeous sunny evening so naturally we sat outside. It was popular with diners of all ages and lots of families. Which was a positive pointer. It is a voluminous dining area, which is not immediately obvious from outside. But for less clement... This cafe and restaurant is in between the Abba Museum and Liljewalchs, where you can sit down either indoors or outdoors where the tables are in the garden, surrounded by flowers, trees, birds and sunlight!! The entrance is very easily missed but is an oasis of calm and seclusion from the "hordes" of people visiting Skansen. The setup is very... More
