Kanal Cafeen serves the best smørrebrød in Copenhagen! The smørrebrød is homemade blackbread with a wide range of toppings. The commodoties are very fresh and delisious. Kanal Cafeen also serves a lot of different beers. Tablereservation is needed.

We were 4 and selected a small selection of different dishes on rye bread. As always nice quality and huge portions. We sat inside, since it was February - however, in spring and summer service is also done on a floating pavillion in the channel. The waiters was a little "tired" this day, normally they are good.

A fantastic place to get familiar with danish smørrebröd in a rustic and busy basement. Any choice from the menu is a treat. Combine with snaps and beer to get the mors out of your stay. Splendid

One of the oldest and most authentic lunch places in Copenhagen. Second to none danish traditional food in the old building just by the parlament. During summer you can sit just at the kanal to eat. Must visit in Copenhagen

A traditional Danish “Smörrebröd” open since 1852. Still a fantastic place to eat Danish Smörrebröd, some Beers and a Danish Aquavit. Many favorites and very popular, especially around Christmas time or probably hole of December. So reserve a table in advance.

We didn't really know what we were in for. Someone working at the Christianborg Palace recommended it. If you want to see what Danish food was like before Noma and the new cuisine, check this place out. I don't recommend the cheese sandwich, our daughter was not happy. It was cold cheese on cold break with a smear of butter.... More
