We popped in for lunch at Thea on a recent trip to Olympia. The restaurant was packed with locals and their families, with several generations all mingling noisily and joyfully. We felt like a couple of token tourists who had somehow gate-crashed a wedding feast and it wasn't long before one of the locals sent over a waiter to offer... More

We enjoyed the seating outdoors overlooking the village of Flakka. The sausage dinner with fries and grilled vegetables was very tasty - would order again. The house red wine was inexpensive and delicious. The house salad was also good. We waited for the pulled pork dinner, a specialty of Saturday nights only, and was somewhat disappointed with the size of... More

It is difficult to find anything good in Olympia. We went there on a Monday night; O Thea offers Greek food, I wouldn't say authentic, but rather tasty and fresh. As usual when you in tourist areas, ask before ordering fish or seafood, as most of them are frozen. We had bifteka and it was quite good. Wasn't cheap for... More

Recommend not eating at this restaurant. The quality of the food was poor - courgette cakes that smelled and tasted old. Frozen squid that was very chewy. Owners must be fed up with seeing tourists as they were barely friendly and looked depressed. Recommended only for the view from the terrace and the beer. Our fault for being adventurous in... More

We arrived early for dinner by Greek standards, to the evident displeasure of the person there who only grudgingly served us. This was a huge contrast to the great, friendly service we received elsewhere in Greece. The bigger issue was that the menu is vegetarian-unfriendly. One of our party said, "I knew I was in trouble when the menu went... More

About 5k from Olympia, on the side of a hill overlooking the valley, this is where the locals go to eat after they close up shops. We arrived about 9pm and the place was nearly full. It was clear that we were

we ate here in March. the food is simple but very tasty. the service is fast and friendly. The Quality-price ratio is great. I would highly recommend it to avoid the tourists' traps around Olympia.

We visited this taverna in January on the advice of the proprietor of Hotel Pelops, who said that many places in Ancient Olympia were closed for the season. When we arrived, we chose a table in front of the blazing fire on the hearth. The waiter brought us English menus and explained what was available. The zucchini balls and friend... More

I visited this place on the 11th of July, 2014. The waiter didn't bring me the menu, but told me "what they had". I was shy enough so I did't ask for the menu-big mistake. Finallly he charged us whatever he liked: 16 euros for half a kilo of lamp, which means 32 per kilo, a price unbelievably high for... More

Tastefully amazed by delicious homemade food at O Thea restaurant. They use their own products and local ones. Have a taste of their genuine greek salad (juicy tomatoes, great feta cheese and tasteful olive oil), zucchini balls, and traditional suvlaki. As a finishing touch, they brought us some fresh watermelon, which was a pleasant surprise. They have a wonderful terrace... More
