We wanted to visit a restaurant that had authentic, home cooked Greek food. This restaurant was definitely that! As anyone does now we looked on google and read some reviews. Finding Othonas to be highly recommended… and it did not disappoint. We walked past and...spoke to a friendly gentleman greeting customers. We decided to book with him for the following evening. On the Sunday evening we arrived and it was the same friendly face greeting us! He also remembered us! (Maybe my bright red hair and pale freckley skin made us memorable or he tends to remember guests - we weren’t sure!) We were given a complimentary taster of tomato soup whilst browsing the wine menu! No question was too difficult and every member of staff was happy to help! We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains (see photos) - the food was outstanding! I’ve had a lot of Greek/Turkish food and this was delicious. We were also given a complimentary dessert! We were not rushed off of the table and allowed to finish our wine! A generally pleasant experience and delicious food. I would definitely recommend and definitely return if I were to visit Rethymno Old Town again.More
