We came as a group and we loved it. Delicious, well sized food, especially the pizza and Mexican chicken, atmosphere was homely and traditional, and the hosts were INCREDIBLE, always giving us a great service and putting a smile on our faces that ceased to...go until we feel asleep. Although we're gone, we will always have the cheeky selfies!More
The first night we arrived we went to eat to Vatania and ordered a couple of mezes all of which were very good. The next day we went down to the Vatania beach, where they serve drinks and food brought from the Vatania restaurant (if...you order something, the sunbeds are free). We were warmly greeted by Mike (the beach boy) who made our experience of the beach even better, with his humor, positive energy and service. Even when we randomly bumped into him on the street on a cloudy day, he made a funny comment and brightened our day :)
Thanks for everything and hope to see Mike and Vatania when we come back next time.More
We ate at Vatania four times during our stay, and the food was great every time. Our host, Vakis, was always very friendly. The location is ideal, very close to the beach with a nice view. You can order delicious Greek mezzes (which I can...definitely recommend, they have plenty of vegetarian options as well) as well as other kinds of dishes, the pizzas were great! Next time we will try the spareribs, apparently they are the best in town!More
Plenty of better restaurants also located directly at the beach. The waiter was a little bit arrogant, the food was good, but nothing special. You have to pay extra for things like tzatziki or any other dips, that are free elsewhere.
Just returned from 11 nights in Crete, our first trip here and certainly will not be our last after spending most of our days eating, drinking and sunbathing at the Vatania Taverna. A wonderful beach front restaurant superbly run by Vakis, Monica and the team,...special mention to the beach God Michael who made everyday perfect and the sun shine, well almost 😉. Vangelis and his team cooking the food which was superb. And to the rest of the front of house who made every wish possible, nothing was too much trouble.
If you are looking for somewhere to spend your day then please do not look any further then the Vantania.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon and please say thank you to Monica for the special homemade wine which was lovely 😊
Thanks again to you all. Mark, Rachel and Richard.More
Vakis was so friendly to welcome us in the mid night after a long trip! We enjoyed our stay at the beach where they served delicious smoothies and frappes. Everybody from Vatania was very friendly, and we would recommend everybody to visit the restaurant and...the beach.More
