We spent two afternoons at Nea Chora beach on our trip to Chania in September, and this taverna made a great base. Five euros got us all-day use of two lounge chairs and an umbrella on the beach, plus a plate of fruit and the restaurant's wifi. we came here expecting some really good food based on the reviews i read. the salad we had at the start was good but then we got a mixed plate of different fishes and some deep fried zuchine. thurns out everything on the fish platter was also deep fried... the kalamari were ok but all the other fishes were very... This restaurant is opposite the Nea Chora beach.Agistri fish tavern also does meat dishes. I had the pork steak, my wife had the chicken souvlaki and our starters were grilled sardines, very nice.On our last night we went back and had lamb chops and again, the pork steak, very nice, very tasty.Our starters this time was fresh calamari, all washed... Great restaurant which is suitable for ppl with wheelchair. We where the only tourist eating here. Rest were all greek families. Exactly what we were looking for. We had sakanaki cheese. Zucchini balls little fish and fried calamari. It all tasted great. Service is nice and friendly.

Mouth-watering delicious food: seafood, traditional, and conventional. The restaurant is right on the beach? Amazing service with an incredible view makes this an unforgettable experience.

I visited Agistri three times while I was in Chania. It's a perfect location while visiting Nea Chora beach. I had there the best Dakos and dolmas of my time Crete! ...and perfect cretan hospitality. The salad was fresh, the fries crunchy (as not always on this island) and I loved the raki and dessert cake. Best eating all my holiday.

I can't understand why the colleague reviewers on tripadvsor rated this restaurant so high. For me it is a real tourist trap! Everything went wrong, from the arrival until the end. The waiter wanted us to convince of food we did not want. Finally the seafood we ordered was cold when served, the fish and the shrimps were just nog... More

The fish food was perfect 👌. The time we been there was not buzy, early afternoon, and the service was perfect. Prices normal for fish tavern. Perfect location.
