This is a really nice place to enjoy some local delights. We had to wait for a table because it was so well liked by the locals. August is really hot. You may want to consider another time of year.

We called in without a booking and were lucky, there was a table left. Would recommend booking here to avoid disappointment though! Food and service were all excellent, we couldn't fault our food - Cretan salad, stuffed mushrooms and vegetable pie were all superb. Followed by complimentary panna cotta and raki - delicious, authentic Cretan cuisine at its best.

We had the stuffed pork, chestnut and pumpkin stew, saganaki, and bread. We wanted to order vine leaves but they did not have them made that evening. The bread was toasted with no oil so it was a bit too hard, the dipping sauces they gave were pretty flavorless. The saganaki was not the usual... it was had a different... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. It has a wonderful restaurant with a wine theme. Wonderful bottles of wine and the food just amazing. You know it's good when the locals go there. Excellent service.

I often go to this restaurant and every time it's all spectacular. The room inside is really very beautiful and special, with thousands of old wine bottles on display. The food is really good and the staff is very kind, cordial, friendly and fast. Excellent meat dishes as well as vegetables are very tasty. The draft wine, both white and... More

We found this restaurant by accident whilst following a recommendation for another restaurant, which was closed for our visit (late November). The service was friendly and helpful, never pushy and the setting was a bit like a wine museum with lots to look at. We were served lightly-toasted bread with soft cheese and tomatoes on arrival, and a very helpful... More

This is one of the best restaurants to eat meat in its neighborhood and probably all around Chania. The dishes are very well prepared. The restaurant offers a great variety of wines and the owner (or manager) is more than helpful in guiding you to find the wine that you would like best. I have been there twice and I... More

The most enormous place (inside even more) with a wine cava worthy of Crete's wineries and waiters well informed about the place catalogue, feel free to share your choice with them and ask info about the food

A backstreets taverna in a charming old winery - open all year I think, but do check! Greatly enjoyed their starters of 'special' fava (the usual lentils, but with lots of different 'bits' in), beetroot with basil and garlic dips, and stamna (cheese bake). Main courses of pork with cream and prunes, and spicy chestnut stew were delicious, if not... More

Local food recommended by our hotel and local staff there. We had local recipy meat dishes. Everything was well cooked and nicely presented. Staff was very very friendly and attentive. The street is full of restaurants, busy and there is a nice atmosphere in the evening. Would definitely recommend it and would go back again. Value for money restaurant.
