We revisited this restaurant after enjoying last year, still just as good. More Moroccan than Cretan, but we love Moroccan food anyway. You can have main courses, or simply mix dishes. Mediterranean chicken lovely with couscous. Meatballs scrumptious, chicken cigars really tasty wrapped with light...More

Hard to find but worth while. It's really good to see a menu that's not your standard taverna fare. Dishes were marvellously spiced and sooo tasty.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we are pleased they did. The menu includes a number of dishes different to the standard offerings. The lamb (with bones which might not be to everyone’s liking) was excellent as were the stuffed courgette flowers. Recommended.

An intriguing name, a very pretty setting along a quiet alleyway with plenty of outdoor seating, really lovely at nightime with lights strung up amidst the blossoms. The restaurant doesn't need to try very hard to attract customers so they don't bother - mediocre food...More

Not easy to find but well worth the effort. Lovely menu with good options. Service good and ambience better at night than would seem possible when seen in daytime. Amazing coincidence, at the next table a former colleague from 12 years previously and not seen...More

Have to say we found the food at the Well of the Turk disappointing. The reviews made it look/sound fantastic but we found it average. The location and ambiance of the place were intriguing but we wouldn’t recommend. Plenty of other places better.

Recommended by hotel staff and lonely planet - tricky, but fun to find in the back streets and a little way from the tourist hoards. It had great fresh, flavoursome and well presented plates suitable for both simple and demanding diners. Middle East and Cretan,...More

My wife and I ate here twice during our recent visit to Chania. The service is good and it's a pleasant atmosphere for a meal--and it's well located. Our meals for both our visits were superb--and quite moderately priced,

Description
The Well of the Turk restaurant and bar offers a delicious selection of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern specialties, to be enjoyed to the sounds of a great collection of Middle Eastern music. Set in a historical building in the center of the Turkish district of Splantzia, with its labyrinth of narrow streets and two remaining minarets, one will find The Well of the Turk restaurant at Rouga Square, across the unique 13th century underground church of Agia Irene.
