I love the blue and white table setup at this restaurant the most. I had the prawns and rice saffron. It wasn't bad but the prawns were frozen (not fresh) and the waiter told me the dish was spicy...it was not. We also had to beg for the bill. May try this place one more time.l but then that's it... The food was excellent and the setting is beautiful. the tables are slightly small for 5 people, but that is to be expected in many Greek restaurants. There is a wide selection on offer which is lovely

Beautifully located in an courtyard area under stone walls illuminated by candles and flowers overhanging. Had spectacular vegetarian moussaka starter which even my (carniverous) husband drooled over. Food excellent with Turkish/Middle Eastern twists. Service courteous. Family run restaurant. One of my favourite restaurants in Crete

We visited this restaurant two nights in a row as we were so impressed the first night. It's a little hard to find the first time you go, but this also means it is a bit quieter than some of the other restaurants that are in the hustle and bustle of the old venetian town. The restaurant serves dishes from... More

The cuisine is Turkish and Moroccan. The decoration is great and stylish and offers information about the story of Turks in Crete. Most importantly the food is awesome. The personnel is very helpful, in guiding you with the selection of your food. Make sure you do not overeat. Hint: the restaurant offers half-portions so that you can sample more dishes.

Day visit to Chania we wanted to include an evening meal. The reviews were good and as we both love Turkish food it seemed an obvious choice. It is located in the once occupied Turkish area of Splantzia. It was warm enough to sit outside so we opted for the little garden area which was lit by loads of candles.... More

Great food: lamb is very recommended as well as one starter with the traditional cremes (baba ghanoush, humus, tzatziki, rtc). The terrace was great and the service was good!

I love to visit the Well of the Turk because I find authentic Turkish and Cretan cuisine. I love their lahmatzun and they also have a big variety of local Cretan dishes. Service is excellent, polite, generous and they are willing to serve half portions (I travel alone usually for business purposes). At the end of the meal if there... More

Whatever dish you chose it will be excellent. Very tasteful, not too much oil... And the venue is great: a quiet but cozy little square near the (also excellent) Ionas Hotel.

First of all this restaurant is difficult to find in a small courtyard of a small side street. It is worth the search. The chef brings together seasoning and preperations which bridge the normal Greek/Cretan cuisine and that of North Africa and the Middle East. Seasonsings were too mild for some in my party, too stong for another, but I... More

The Well of the Turk restaurant and bar offers a delicious selection of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern specialties, to be enjoyed to the sounds of a great collection of Middle Eastern music.

Set in a historical building in the center of the Turkish district of Splantzia, with its labyrinth of narrow streets and two remaining minarets, one will find The Well of the Turk restaurant at Rouga Square, across the unique 13th century underground church of Agia Irene.
