About
VINTAGE holds over 1200 labels with 850 of them served by the glass, which is quite phenomenal in worldwide scale and makes the world's largest “by the glass” list. Especially worth mentioning is the fact that legendary fine wines are also available by the glass (yes, Petrus too). One of the three cellars is dedicated to aged, very rare Greek wines - both red and white ones - with very impressive collection on Santorini wines and hundreds of Magnum bottles. FOOD at VINTAGE: we are dedicated to treating outstanding ingredients with the lowest amount of intervention. We create mediterranean dishes that find the perfect balance between simplicity and deliciousness (i.e. grilled milk-fed lamb, truffled split pea puree, octopus in wine, triple cooked potaoes with feta & oregano, croquettes with Greek jamon iberico). List of over 30 cheeses and charcuteries keep the spirit of our menu relaxed and timeless. Additionally each cheese platter is custom made.

With over 800 wines available by the glass this place has the largest such selection in the world! If that wasn't enough of an incentive the wines are very well priced, the waiters are very knowledgeable and the food is at a very high level. The greek selection is extensive but they have wines from all over the world as well. If you love wine you will love this place!

Looking for a nice cosy place to have dinner. The menu might not be much of a variety so it might at first put you off. But lucky we decided to try it!! Wow!! Where to start? The waiters know their stuff!! From all ingredients in the dishes...polite, hospitable, attendant, how each dish is prepared. From a wine list of 200+ wines which most can be ordered by a glass. They even know each wine destinationn, the winery, the characteristics of each wine! We were very amazed! We ordered a variety of starter dishes. Not at all a dissapointment! All were served hot, nice presentation and the tastes were unusual. Not a normal restaurant that just wants to get the meals to the tables. Extra care is given to every little detail. It was very busy and you couldnt even hear noice of the plates or glasses being served or collected! We had the apple crumble with ice cream at the end. Would deffinately recommend!! Well done to the staff and nanagment!

Such a nice concept! The place is beautiful, very classy, quiet, with nice background music. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, he suggested us very good wines and gave us interesting details about them. They have a great selection of wines and a good selection of cheeses also, with the possibility to compose your own platter, and it was very interesting to get to know the "back story" of the various cheeses they have. Also, the bread was delicious. A great evening out, absolutely recommended.

Arriving back after a great daytrip to Delphi we had here in mind for a celebratory dinner. And we weren’t disappointed.
Having a variation of moussaka and pasta with Greek bottarga, joined with a dry white wine, totally delicious.
Not bypassing dessert when invited, plus coffee and cappuccino, brought the fine fare to a close. Staff throughout were great, welcoming, cheerful and helpful.
A grand décor enhanced the overall experience. We have no hesitation in awarding a high recommendation.

We were tired after 20 hours of traveling and wanted something to eat. We found Vintage right across the street from our hotel. The manager was a delight, we had her recommend our wine as we wanted something. Greek. She showed us the area on a map that it came from and detailed tasting notes. With decided on a Charcuterie plate. We again let her decide what was on it. Local rare cheeses and local meats. Everything was perfect. Prices were surprisingly reasonable considering we didn’t even ask on the front end and relied on our server who was the manager. Highly recommend.

We have been visiting Vintage for the past 5 years, ever since it opened I think. We come to Athens for short visits every 3 or 4 months, and Vintage is always on the top of our list, as it combines great food and an excellent wine list.
The owners and the staff are always friendly and polite, and really know everything about wine!
We also love the fact that they change their menu frequently. Furthermore, everything on the menu is fresh and tasty, and a real tribute to the modern Greek cuisine.
If you like good food, you will enjoy this place; If you also like good wine, you will LOVE it!

Had an amazing wine tasting and appetizers with our hostesses Mary and Effie. Both were fantastic. As we are from the Napa area of California we wanted to explore Greek wines and leave our normal comfort zone. Effie brought us an assortment of Greek wines that ranged from light and fruity to bold and dry. She did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend anyone visit this establishment to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine and wines in an upbeat and beautiful place. We will most certainly return next time we are in Athens.

We had a very happy experience at this place thanks to our extraordinary host Sotiris. He was passionate about food and wine and delighted in sharing this. Sotiris’s depth of knowledge of wine was amazing and he guided us to wine we liked and within our budget. The food was also very delicious, with a wonderful marriage of different tastes and textures.

We had such a great time at Vintage! Our server was so kind and helpful in selecting wines by the glass, even when we shared that we needed to stay on lower end of the $$spectrum. Ultimately, we left it up to her to choose our wine, and she did not disappoint! The food wasn't life-changing, but the wine, ambiance, and our server more than made up the difference.
Highly recommend, but would caution if you are impatient or expect rapid service. When we were there in June, there was just one team member who served as sommelier, hostess, server, and everything in between - and a huge hats off to her for doing so!! as she still provided individualized attention to each table - so things were a little slow, but it gave us more time to enjoy ourselves and the excellent wine :)

We visited the Vintage Wine Bar a late and very quiet Thursday night in Athens. Food is fantastic - even though the selection is rather short (a good idea, BTW), and the 37-page list of Greek and World wines is quite overwhelming. The staff, however, is extremely knowledgable, attentive, kind - and happy: It is wonderful to see people who love their jobs without being too much, and despite we four were the only customers and stayed there till 01:30 AM, there was absolutely no rush! That's how you make clients feel like guests! We happen to like Greek wine, and these guys seem to know every vineyard in the country! We will be back!!

Everything was perfect, we ordered a platter with several cheeses and charcuterie that we wanted to try. The quality was excellent and the quantity was more than enough to accompany the wine we have chosen. We loved the Holzhofer and the truffled pecorino! Fully recomended!

Had the absolute best time with Effie. Went three times during our week long visit. Each time she listened to what we liked/didn’t like and found perfect wines to match our budget. She is very knowledgeable about her Greek wines! And the food, excellent. Had the potatoes, tacos, falafel, and ice cream. Who puts string potatoes on ice cream?! They do and it’s fantastic. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

We booked this restaurant as part of my birthday celebrations and it was a fantastic evening - the two staff who looked after us were very knowledgeable about the wines and the food and, after asking us about the types of wines we usually drink , our budget and our food choices, we were served two fabulous wines by the glass , a white, a red and then a desert wine later . The wines were outstanding and the food was outstanding . We shared three dishes first - a fish ceviche, whole grain falafel and a bone marrow and beef carpaccio followed by a platter of four Greek cheeses. The orange and lemon pudding we shared for the final course was also exceptional. A meal I will remember for a long time and the highlight of our week in Athens. It was quiet but we were unfashionably early as we had another event later and so we got a look at the wine cellar and information on the restaurants roots and concept - Thank you so much.

Great staff and service and very knowledgeable about wine and brought local whites and reds by the glass that perfectly matched our preferences.
We had a couple of sharing platters that were very tasty - pitta with feta and pears and mini tacos.
I think it’s prob 4.5 stars and only reason I scored 4 is that the menu is not extensive and there may not be something for everyone. But suited us and I would recommend.

I trusted Mr. Panos to guide me in my Greek wine selection. Greek red wines are not those of the past they are producing some incredible complex and delicious wines these days.
I had no appetite but still managed to eat a platter of lamb prosciutto, incredible stuff and the Greek Kokorek, the signature dish.
On my next visit I will come hungry.
The service was excellent from start to finish.

Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
