Had the moussaka, grilled squid, stuff vegetables and grilled octopus over 2 dinners. Every dish was really good. Enjoyed it very much although we were surprised there was some sort of cover charge that was added to the bill.

Slow service. Food was not impresive. Little of space. Not to big portions. Prices compareing to food quality not so low.. Not recommended

During a week long trip for work I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant three times. The food is great and is cooked fresh everyday. On the first trip we arrived too early and had to wait while they marked todays price for the dishes prepared. The next day you will have a different selection of dishes. When... More

We chose Eugenia after reading tons of reviews about the restaurant in Plaka. Great decision! People are right, it's a tiny restaurant..but food is delicious! Portions are very abundant and staff is very kind. For 2 starters, 4 main courses, greek salad, bread and a bootle of ouzo, we paid 52 euro. Best choice ever!

It is a very small restaurant, but please wait for the table and you will explore a fresh taste. We took cheeses, shrimps and a fresh fish. All food was fantastic, but fish was like a symphony of heaven for me:))) Nice and friendly service!

Evgenia's cooking is appreciated by most Athenians who order to take out if they can not get a table. Unfortunately, there are only a few tables inside and on the sidewalk. Although it is located in Plaka , there are very few tourists at Evgenia's. The clientele is mostly Greek who appreciate the home made σπιτικό , authentic, traditional ,... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
