The food, and I mean all the dishes we had from appetizer, main meal, breads, etc., was delicious. The service was great, and the food plentiful! The alcoholic drinks were "frou-frou" hardly any alcohol and not what a westerner expects a cocktail to be. Now, the reason it doesn't get a 5-star rating is because it lacked in decor and... More

I have particular weakness to India and the traditional flavors of and this restaurant traveling directly in hart of India, both with the taste, and with the musical sounds. Traditional samosas, spicy and delicious, traditional flavors and for dessert "lantou " a traditional sweet of India with spices. Soft music from Bollywood movies accompanies the diner ... I still remember... More

We have been to Kohenoor a number of times, always to "rep"-eat Balti food (Anglo-Indian cuisine) the best we have tried outside the UK. Since we so much miss this food, whenever we go, we order the same things, i.e. we always get balti chicken accompanied with pilau rice. It is very delicious and not too spicy as most Indian... The place is very dark, unfriendly and without decoration. It feels like you are having dinner under a canopy. There was only another couple, nevertheless the service was indifferent. The portions were very small, nans were like pizza bread (no tandoori oven) and we felt like everything was pre-cooked (from at least the day before) and microwaved. Prices with the... More

Pleasant environment with traditional indian decoration and interesting sofas. A rich menu with several dishes, including starters, main courses and desserts. Good quality and delicious indian food. A variety in tastes and successful combination of ingredients and spices. Portions are satisfactory (estimate that 2 starters, one rice and 2 main dishes are more than enough for 3 persons). Prices are... More

I've been to Kohenoor many times in the last couple of years and I always return. The food is great and there are many vegetarian options. The service is professional and the place is clean. It's also really cheap especially because they have special offers on Greek websites.

Decoration indifferent and dark ambience, not at all welcoming. Food good but nothing special in my opinion. Service good Price - it's expensive for what you get.

Tried a variety of dishes, all well executed. Not the best in Athens but quite ok. The deco is not worth mentioning, very basic.

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
