We had a great time at the restaurant. Great food, good service and a very friendly hostess who had a lot of great tips that helped improve our trip to Athens and Mykonos. You may come in for the kosher food but you will stay for the warm atmosphere and homey feeling. Highly recommended for kosher and non-kosher eaters alike!

Kind and considerate service with very good food in a relaxed atmosphere. It also has a hidden patio in the back where you can dine al-fresco. Gostijo has an added highlight - the hostess Rikki - charming and talkative with unique information about what to do in and around Athens.

For anybody seeking Kosher Greek or Middle eastern food this is the place to go in Athens. The atmosphere is friendly, the restaurant spacious and clean and the food tasty.

An excellent middle eastern restaurant in Central Athens. Definitely worth dropping in for a meal, their grilled chicken and rice being particularly tasty. Benzion Levy

I have eaten here before a number of years ago and the same excellent service and quaintness exists today. Go there to eat and slow down and enjoy your time.

We ate at Gostijo twice during our time in Athens and both times the food was delicious. There was a wide enough range of choices to satisfy the different preferences of our party of five. The food was as good as we had been led to believe from people who had eaten there before and recommended it. It had a... More

An elegant restaurant very central located, with delicious menus, warm and friendly service, homemade menus, good greek gastronomy and great activities for kids; restaurant to recommend.

Our experience with Gostijo was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and we felt right at home with Ricky and Mendel. Not only did we eat dinner there, we had lunch meals prepared to-go which were delicious (and reasonably priced). Gostijo helps make Athens a great destination for the Kosher traveller. SML New York

My second trip to Athens this past year, and ate at GOSTIJO twice for dinner last week. As last time the restaurant is a significant upgrade from the typical Chabad 'hotel delivery' found in smaller Jewish communities like Athens. It is nice enough to take non Jewish business associates and feel comfortable. service is good and attentive. There was also... More

*There were many choices of items with a good deal of variety and options. *The food (we had 3 different main courses and a dessert) was very good *The prices were quite reasonable, at least for kosher food (I can't compare to non-kosher food) *The service was acceptable, though not exceptional. *The atmosphere was nice (spacious, large tables, adequate heat... Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
