Cozy small restaurant with rustic tasty food. Live music and lighting was nice as well. Located in a tourist street, but the place was filled with locals and food positively surprised.

Of average quality in almost everything apart from the location and the live music. It could be better in range of plates and service.

We enjoyed our "Bekri Meze" with a lovely live music. The staff are really friendly and the prices are also reasonable. They accept credit cards too (many places in Athens don't!)

Kotili is a very nice restaurant and the food was very tasty. The service was perfect, the music group playing and singing on the right sound level. We ended with a local drink offered. We spent a very nice evening and recommended the place.

Looked after me and my 14 year old son very well. Lovely 3 piece band playing traditional music as background, loved it. Male and female vocals, if you like Enya you'd enjoy these guys. Food good and prices reasonable. Local wine was fine. Try the Flogeries, soft cheese wrapped in ham and rolled in bread crumbs. Waiters friendly and not... More

My husband and I are here for our honeymoon and we decided to find a vibey place to eat dinner. Kotili had lovely live Greek music which led us to getting a table here, but we were met with slow service, bread and dip which we never asked for yet were charged for and over cooked seafood. The wine was... More

Kotilo is the typical tavern that every tourist wants to dine in. It always has live Greek music and offers a variety of foods. Which are actually delicious but a bit expensive considering the prices in Athens. Anyhow what you must try is their meat platter (souvlaki, kebab, kolokythokeftedes, etc.)

Even though Kotili is located in Plaka, it does not seem like the usual tourist trap. The food is excellent, it's value for money, the staff is iutstanding. And on Friday nights they have live music that you can either listen to or have a conversation!

Live music and great atmosphere. It's a great location around everything. We had spent the day traveling and exploring the city for a bit and came across this restaurant. We were greeted and quickly seated. We ordered our food and it came out quickly and was very tasty. After our meal our waiter brought us our complimentary gelato. Great experience.

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
