It has a roof-top terrace with great views of both the city and Acropolis. Food is fine with all the typical Greek choices plus perhaps a few more. Portions are big. Service is excellent, they made sure I understood what I was ordering to avoid any unpleasant surprises. It also seemed that they made an adjustment to the ingredients based... More

Very friendly staff, good food. Our waiter brought us red Easter eggs from the house (yes, it was Easter Day :)), a small gesture that made us feel like home.

We had a hard time finding this restaurant (it was recommended by a Greek friend) and were over a 1/2 hour late for our reservation but were welcomed with open arms. We were seated on the rooftop and had a beautiful view of the acropolis. We had grilled octopus (with carrots and potatoes) Dorado (with carrots and potatoes), spinach pie,... More

The view is simply amazing from the seating on their rooftop patio, very romantic etc... but the food was the worst I've had so far in Greece. Greek salad for instance was more like a green salad. No feta, and it came soaked in a honey mustard sort of dressing. Not great! But okay.

Together with a number of our tour group members, we had dinner in this charming restaurant located at the tip of the Plaka Area. The food was good and reasonably priced. The ambiance that the restaurant exuded was also very romantic. We all dines in an al-fresco area of the restaurant with background music to booth. Their staff was also... More

We had dinner here and I have to say the atmosphere was very sweet, there was live Greek music and the restaurant itself is looking nice. The food we ordered wasn't very tasty really and the service wasn't so good. There was an older waiter who wasn't so nice to us and a young one who was very polite and... More

Friendly customer service, prompt and attentive. Food was very good quality and good prices. Located on a steep cobblestone street with many restaurants.

Had 5 different small plates (mezzedes) and all were so good. Incredible live music in the heart of the bustling Plaka. Owner and staff so gracious. If I were in Athens longer I would go again. Very reasonably priced!

Sissifos is up the hill, so you have to climb there some beautiful stairs. They have an upper terrace which offer a nice view both of Athens and of Acropole. Either for lunch or dinner, it is worth to go in, but ask for a table with a view.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
